University of Michigan's Shakespeare in the Arb presents ROMEO AND JULIET for First Time

Staging Shakespeare's iconic play proved to be a thorny decision, according to director Kate Mendeloff, a drama lecturer in the U-M Residential College. The Shakespeare in the Arb productions have historically been comedies. And while 'Romeo and Juliet' begins as a romantic comedy, it takes a tragic turn.

The New York Civil Liberties Union, the New York State affiliate of the ACLU, just welcomed a star-studded lineup for its annual benefit concert. 'Broadway Stands Up for Freedom,' a celebratory event in honor of the recent Supreme Court victory for the freedom to marry, boasted performances by some of Broadway's finest last night at the NYU Skirball Center for Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place).

Dance Against Cancer Raises More Than $243,000 for American Cancer Society

The 5th Annual Dance Against Cancer was held on Monday, April 27, 2015.  The event had over 500 guests attend and raised more than $243,000 for the American Cancer Society that will benefit research initiatives and patient and family service programs.
