the stageFARM (Alex Kilgore, Artistic Director and Carrie Shaltz, Founder / Executive Director) has announced the line-up of plays that will comprise the world premiere of SPIN, a series of new short plays (commissioned on the timely topic) by Adam Rapp, Gina Gionfriddo, Judith Thompson, Elizabeth Meriwether, and Mark Schultz. With direction by Alex Kilgore and Evan Cabnet, SPIN begins performances Friday evening, October 3, 2008, for a limited engagement through Saturday evening, November 8, at The Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street between Barrow & Bedford Streets).

Ars Nova's Play Group, a vibrant and eclectic group of emerging writers who gather twice a month at Ars Nova to share new work and get peer feedback, is now accepting applications for Play Group 2009.

Alex Kilgore and Evan Cabnet are set to direct the world premiere of the stageFARM's newest work, SPIN, which begins performances on Friday, October 3, at The Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street).

Ars Nova presents, as part of the Out Loud series, a FREE reading of: GOOD EGG by Dorothy Fortenberry, directed by Jackson Gay. GOOD EGG Responsible Meg has always taken care of her bipolar younger brother Matt. But when she decides to get pregnant-and have her embryos screened for bipolar disorder-is she taking the idea of 'being responsible' too far? A funny and surprising play about bioethics, siblings, and the limits of unconditional love. Dorothy Fortenberry recently graduated from the Yale School of Drama with an MFA in Playwriting. Second Stage Theatre will kick off this summer's Second Stage Theatre Uptown Series with the world premiere of Carly Mensch's 'Len, Asleep in Vinyl.'

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director; Ellen Richard,Executive Director) has announced the two plays to be presented as part of the company's sixth Second Stage Theatre Uptown Series this summer: Carly Mensch's Len, Asleep in Vinyl, directed by Jackson Gay, and Rajiv Joseph's Animals Out of Paper, directed by Giovanna Sardelli.

Ars Nova will present The Wikipedia Plays, a mini-marathon of short plays that surf the Wikipedia wave through seventeen related entries. Written by Ars Nova's 2006-2007 Play Group writers, the production run August 3 to August 6 at 7 PM at Ars Nova
