SHOW PEOPLE Receives Star Treatment at the Academy Tonight, 11/1

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present a restored version of the comedic silent film SHOW PEOPLE (1928) tonight, November 1, at 7:30 p.m. at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Kevin Brownlow, who received an Honorary Award (an Oscar® statuette), will introduce the film, which was restored under his supervision and features a stereo musical score by composer Carl Davis.

The evening will feature Harold Lloyd's films, The Kid Brother (1927) and High and Dizzy (1920,) accompanied by the LA Chamber Orchestra conducted by Carl Davis. Music for The Kid Brother was commissioned by Thames Television for Channel 4. Newly composed music by Carl Davis for High and Dizzy will have its U.S. premiere on May 20.
