Hale Centre Theatre in Gilbert kicks off the new year with the uproarious comedy See How They Run. The classic Brit-com features over-the-top mistaken identities, an escaped Russian spy, a Cockney maid, a straight-laced bishop, a blonde American actress who is married to a vicar, a snooty parishioner who is a scold, and an old friend of the actress who is now in the army. Shenanigans and riotous chaos ensue when four of the characters assume clergymen's attire, including the Russian spy. David Dietlein's production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL at Hale Centre Theatre through December 23 gift wraps the celebrated tale of Ebenezer Scrooge's redemption with all the sparkle, festivity, and messaging that befits the Holiday Season. The holidays are that special time of year when our hearts are full of joy and we're happy to share the Christmas spirit with friends and family. To help you celebrate the joy of the season, Hale Centre Theatre of Gilbert presents its holiday classic A Christmas Carol for the 15th consecutive year. Acclaimed as the best Christmas show in the Valley, this year's 51 performances feature two stellar casts of veteran actors and singers. It is a spectacular, heart-warming version of Charles Dickens' classic tale of redemption magically brought to life on the Hale stage. The production is rich with traditional carols, stunning costumes and memorable characters guaranteed to enrich the holiday season for you and your family. Award-winning David Hale Dietlein again directs the production and promises theatre-goers a delightful holiday a treat.

The Hale's newest offering is a holiday confection - sweet and delicious - like a freshly shaken up, edible snow globe. Director Cambrian James has put together his finest (thus far) staging of the season. On the marvelous arena stage in Gilbert, the tight, swift-paced send up of the classic 1944 film is enchanting, from overture to finale.

Director Cambrian James' fast paced, delightful Kiss and Tell gave this grumpy critic more laughs than she has experienced in a good long time - and the rest of the Hale's opening night audience was right there with her.

Hale Centre Theatre in Gilbert presents the hit romantic comedy Kiss and Tell. Playing Monday and Tuesday nights from September 12th through November 14th. This hilarious Broadway and Hollywood smash, features a family feud that begins when two teenage best friends, Corliss and Mildred, come up with a scheme to sell kisses at a USO bazaar. Endearing love plots and madcap mistaken identities evolve from there, including the secret marriage of Mildred to a young Air Force officer and a prospective visit from the stork. Their bickering parents precipitate more problems than they're able to solve, including a lawsuit and countersuit.  

Considered a must-see, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was the first major hit for composer Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Sir Tim Rice. The Old Testament epic remains both timely as well as timeless. It is one of the most popular shows ever produced by Hale. The production was nominated for six Tony Awards on Broadway and won an Olivier Award for its London performances.

Wildly talented, vastly experienced director/choreographer Cambrian James' staging is at times crisp and clear and spot on.

The Hale Centre Theatre in Gilbert opens its 2017-2018 season on August 25th with the spectacular Broadway musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The endearing Bible story tells the epic saga of Joseph, the favorite son of Jacob in the Book of Genesis. Joseph is a boy blessed with prophetic dreams and given a coat of many colors. Unfortunately, he is the object of severe envy to his brothers who plot to kill him, but end up selling him into slavery instead.

Audiences are certain to be entranced as the Hale Centre Theatre in Gilbert is transformed into a magical underwater kingdom when the Hale presents Disney's The Little Mermaid. The production featuring fantastic costumes and special effects bows on July 7th and runs through August 19th. Beneath-the-sea settings and story engage sophisticated theatrical techniques to create other-worldly gliding movements for the actors.

The high-spirited musical Thoroughly Modern Millie, starts February 16th and runs through April 1st. A young ingenue from Kansas, a handsome beau, Jazz Age flappers, and some comically devious characters all come together at Hale Centre Theatre in Gilbert.
