I want to express the deepest gratitude to the director, Igor Goldin, for not directing his actors into a corner with this show. Each and every person onstage had a story to tell, and not just some façade to put on: a worry I typically have when viewing a comedic musical. Even each member of the ensemble had fantastic individuality and characterization that it makes one wonder whether an ensemble needs to necessarily “blend together” – which, in fact, is quite difficult not to do when the show decks out its actors in outrageous costumes that make Betsy Johnson and Alexander McQueen look (I won't be forgetting you, anytime soon, Sausage Dress…). Though, it's the joint effort between the lead players and supporting players that create magic on that stage, and this cast did just that.

After receiving popular & critical acclaim this fall, Fabulous! the high seas musical romp was Off-Broadway's Valentine production on Saturday February 14th and play through Sunday, May 17th at the Write Act Repertory Theatre (Times Square Arts Center, 300 West 43rd Street). Produced by Roy Nevans, John Lant and FABCO Productions in association with Write Act Repertory and Tamra Pica, Fabulous! features a book and lyrics by Dan Derby, music by Michael Rheault, original direction by Rick Hamilton, original choreography by Mary Lauren along with musical direction by Ted Arthur. Arizona Broadway Theatre welcomes the New Year with the high energy musical Seven Brides For Seven Brothers. Originally a popular MGM film, ABT brings the classic stage production to the stage through February 16. Dayna Grayber and Jamie Westberry will lead the cast in the roles of Babe and Sid, respectively. Gallery alumni Lorinne Lampert and Robert Anthony Jones will again take the Gallery stage as Gladys and Hines.

Snapped Productions presents William Shakespeare's classic comedy Much Ado About Nothing. Gregory Couba directs a diverse cast, including Howard Collado, Jon Dalin, Jeffrey Delano Davis, Ann Gulian, Matt Kelley, Mary-Rose Mack, Norihito Moriya, Keith R. Oliver, Al-nisa Petty, Robby Ramos, Priyank Rastogi, Donny Repsher, Jon Adam Ross, Goncalo Ruivo, Caleb Schaaf, Peter Van Derick, Gary Warchola and Tina Ward. Much Ado About Nothing will run at the 133rd Street Arts Center, 308 West 133rd Street in Harlem, New York City for 16 performances, February 14-March 2, 2013.
