The Old Globe announced today the cast and creative team for its first production of the 2022 Season, Trouble in Mind by Alice Childress (Wedding Band: A Love/Hate Story in Black and White), which began rehearsal today. San Diego Theatre Critics Circle Award winner Delicia Turner Sonnenberg (The Bluest Eye) directs this revival of the neglected modern-day classic.

This riveting play shares the incredible, true story of Jerrie Cobb, a world record-holding female aviator who dreamt of flying among the stars. At the height of the Space Race, Cobb and her female peers in the Mercury 13 program trained to become astronauts, ready to join their male counterparts in space and change history, but they never got the chance. A favorite from TheatreWorks Silicon Valley's 2018 New Works Festival, They Promised Her The Moon will be directed by TheatreWorks Artistic Associate and Director of New Works Giovanna Sardelli.

Bergen County Players, one of America's longest-running little theater companies, will conclude its successful 86th season with a limited engagement of Murray Schisgal's one-act comedy drama The Typists. Under the direction of Jerry Pettinati, The Typists will run June 8th and June 9th at the Little Firehouse Theatre in Oradell. Show times will be Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm. The East Village Playhouse, home of the The CityKids Foundation, is proud to present the return engagement of The Artivist, The Bayard Rustin Story, a solo show that musically explores the life of civil rights activist Bayard Rustin through his speeches, songs, monologues, documentary footage, and letters.
