Rubicon Theatre, a not-for-profit professional regional theatre company in Ventura, California, announces its production of WEST SIDE STORY (Book by ARTHUR LAURENTS, Music by LEONARD BERNSTEIN, Lyrics by STEPHEN SONDHEIM), to be performed by the students of the Education Department's MUSICAL THEATRE INTENSIVE, featuring at twenty-one piece orchestra conducted by DANIEL NEWMAN-LESSLER. This production is directed by BRIAN McDONALD, Musical Direction by MIRIAM ARICHEA and choreography is by CAROLANNE MARANO. Set and lights are designed by David King. Production Manager is Jessie Vacchiano, Stage Manager is Jon Stover.

Rubicon Theatre Company Producing Artistic Director Karyl Lynn Burns today announced the director and cast for OTHER DESERT CITIES, Jon Robin Baitz's highly lauded story about a family in the public eye whose members must find a new way forward when each person's beliefs and illusions related to a pivotal family event are called into question. Filled with richly drawn characters, dramatic plot elements, and witty social commentary, OTHER DESERT CITIES garnered five Tony nominations and was awarded Outstanding Play by the Outer Critics Circle. The show takes its title from a sign off California's I-10 freeway where one continues on to Palm Springs or exits toward "Other Desert Cites."

DTC artistic director Kevin Moriarty directs the Kennedy Center Jean Kennedy Smith Playwriting Award-winning play, which is choreographed by founder and artistic director of Dark Circles Contemporary Dance Joshua L. Peugh. Colossal begins with previews tonight, April 2 with a Pay-What-You-Can performance and runs through Sunday, May 3.

Ballet Kelowna closes its 2014/15 season with two world premieres and one company premiere from some of Canada's leading contemporary ballet choreographers - James Kudelka, Shawn Hounsell and Ballet Kelowna's own Artistic Director and CEO, Simone Orlando - in Forward: A Mixed Repertory Programme, at the Kelowna Community Theatre (1375 Water Street) on April 24 at 7:30pm. Broadway Inspirational Voices (BIV) is set for a special one-night-only presentation of their 2014 'Stories In The Key Of Me' outreach program to the seriously ill children and families at Ronald McDonald House New York on Thursday December 18th, 5pm. Joining the roster of Broadway composers/songwriters this year is 16-time Grammy award winner STING and Pulitzer Prize award recipient Brian Yorkey. STING is currently performing in his acclaimed new Broadway musical,'The Last Ship' at the Neil Simon Theatre for which he composed the music and lyrics and Brian Yorkey and John Logan penned the book.

Earlier today it was announced that The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, will present the world premiere of Waitress- a new musical directed by Diane Paulus and featuring book by Jessie Nelson and music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles. This wasn't the only big news from Nelson though. Nelson, who wrote, directed, and produced Corrina Corrina with Whoopi Golberg, is in the process of writing a musical version for Audra McDonald, with Alan Menken and Brian Yorkey. She is also co-writing Alice By Heart with Steven Sater, music by Duncan Sheik.
