Just announced! The Ozark Mountain Daredevils will bring their distinctive 'rootsy rock' sound to the Rock Legends Cruise VII stage February 14-18, 2019. The Rock Legends Cruise VII brings together rock music's most successful and critically acclaimed bands, with all proceeds going to the Native American Heritage Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting hunger and providing basic life necessities to families living on Reservations in South Dakota.

Legendary choreographer Bill T. Jones and renowned jazz master Wynton Marsalis are celebrated throughout the world, honored with numerous awards including the National Medal of Arts (2013 Jones, 2005 Marsalis), Pulitzer Prize (1997, Marsalis), and MacArthur "Genius" Award (1994, Jones). In addition to their artistic contributions, both are heading important cultural institutions: Marsalis leads Jazz at Lincoln Center and Jones is the artistic director of New York Live Arts.

THE BLACK BOX presents several live music events this May at the downtown Franklin venue, beginning with a Decades Series cabaret show on Saturday, May 12. The musical tribute to the '70s will feature some of the most memorable songs from that decade. Celebrate unforgettable moments from an era highlighted by tumultuous times, technological advances, and music ranging from progressive rock to disco. Two performances will be presented at 7:00 and 8:45 p.m. Tickets are $24 (adults) and $20 (students/seniors). The Decades Series concert is sponsored by 1776 Financial.

The Houston Symphony welcomes award-winning actor and comedian Bill Murray to Jones Hall for a must-see live performance, New Worlds: Bill Murray, Jan Vogler & Friends, at 7:30 p.m. April 16, 2018, featuring music and literature.

Each show isolates a single great dedication, holds intimate conversations with the people we admire most about the people they admire most, and hosts an open mic for everyone to make a dedication to someone who got them where they are today.

THE BLACK BOX presents an exciting line-up of live music and theatrical entertainment this March. Programming will bring NYC-based Broadway stars, talented local artists, and a colorful family musical to the theater, music and event venue in downtown Franklin.

The Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery will hold its second biennial American Portrait Gala Sunday, Nov. 19, honoring five individuals whose achievements in their respective fields have been exemplary and whose portraits reside in the museum's collection.

Two-time Tony Award-winning choreographer and National Medal of Arts winner Bill T. Jones brings his innovative contemporary company to UC San Diego's ArtPower for Play and Play: An Evening of Movement and Music for one performance only, Thursday, May 25, 8 pm. Accompanied by a live score, Jones' extraordinary choreography highlights the joy of musicians and dancers working together. The New York Times has raved about Jones' work, 'rarely has one seen a dance company throw itself onto the stage with such kinetic exaltation.' The fourth and final event of this series will feature Bill T. Jones in conversation with three artists whose works are part of New York Live Arts' current season.

EastEnders' Rita Simon, Lucie Jones, who is representing the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest with 'Never Give Up On You' on Saturday May 13, and Bill Ward (Coronation Street and Emmerdale) are to star in a major new UK tour of  the smash-hit Broadway and West End musical Legally Blonde The Musical.

 Dance enthusiasts in two European cities, Cremona, Italy, and Ljubljana, Slovenia, will have the opportunity to watch performances by the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company when the award-winning choreographer, MacArthur Genius Award and National Medal of the Arts recipient Bill T. Jones presents his mesmerizing Play and Play: An Evening of Movement and Music at Teatro Ponchielli, Cremona, Italy on March 15, 2017, 8:30pm and at Gallus Hall in Ljubljana, Slovenia on March 20, 7:30pm.  

Internationally recognized choreographer Bill T. Jones will speak with Fran Lebowitz, author and public speaker known for her sardonic social commentary on American life. 'In this era with its befuddling stream of changes, surprises and the most banal prescriptions for forward movement coming from every direction, I look forward to speaking with a true thinker and wit such as Fran Leibowitz,' states Jones.
