Bill Kenwright's production of one of the greatest family musicals of all time, The Sound of Music, launches its 2018 tour around the UK on Tuesday 9 January with a stop at the King's Theatre in Glasgow from Tuesday 22 until Saturday 27 January.

A collection of stunning images taken backstage at the National Theatre's critically acclaimed production of the legendary Stephen Sondheim musical Follies have been released ahead of the live cinema broadcast to cinemas across the UK and internationally on Thursday November 16th as part of National Theatre Live.

Including such classic songs as Broadway Baby, I'm Still Here and Losing My Mind, Stephen Sondheim's legendary musical FOLLIES is being staged for the first time at the National Theatre. Tracie Bennett, Janie Dee and Imelda Staunton play the magnificent Follies in this dazzling new production. Featuring a cast of 37 and an orchestra of 21, the production is directed by Dominic Cooke (Ma Rainey's Black Bottom). Literally translated, La Cage aux Folles means 'the cage of mad women'. This seems an apt description for the characters and audience alike in Martin Connor's latest production. Funny and flirty, hysteria sweeps through the women and men in attendance and no doubt will the country, as the musical tours the UK for the first time.
