Tracy Letts' "August: Osage County," opening March 13 and directed by Tony Daniel, portrays a family attempting to support each other in a crisis. Three sisters and their significant others come home to be with their mother when their father disappears. They soon learn that he has committed suicide.

EVENT: AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY: Tracy Letts' dark-humored Pulitzer Prize-winning play August: Osage County is presented live onstage, as it was originally intended to be presented. Now a major motion picture, Letts' dramatic comedy also won the Tony Award for Best Play, the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play, the New York Critics Drama Circle Award for Best Play and other honors. A crisis reunites members of the dysfunctional Weston family. In times of crisis, most families turn to one another. For the Westons, it's a chance to air dirty laundry and resurrect old grievances. Directed by DeLarme Landes of Doylestown. Produced and assistant directed by Cat Miller of Bristol. Starring Susan Blair of Philadelphia, Giz Coughlin of Doylestown,and Cathy Liebars and Maryalice Rubins-Topoleski of Langhorne. A crisp autumnal breeze rolls down White Horse Pike as seventy young performers spend their last days of summer vacation putting on a show to capture all their abilities. Just one block down the street, Ritz veteran, Esther Flaster has the daunting task of bringing the "black, damned and anonymous" world of Tracy Letts' August: Osage County to the stage by September 12th.

The Omaha Community Playhouse honored its top volunteers at the annual Awards Night ceremony held Monday evening. Awards Night is a tribute to the thousands of volunteers who contribute their time and talents to OCP. Awards are given for outstanding service in front-of-house areas; in backstage areas involving costuming and technical assistance; and for excellence in performing.

If you've seen it you know you love it. "August: Osage County" has got to be one of the most powerful stories to grace the stage in quite some time. And soon everyone will love it as it's about to be turned into a movie due out next November with a powerhouse cast. But until that time you can still visit with the Westons right here in Seattle with the regional premiere of this stunning work brilliantly put up by Balagan Theatre.

Everyman Theatre has announced the first cast that will perform on its brand new Fayette Street stage. Renowned actress Linda Thorson, well known for her role in the television series The Avengers and over 40 years of experience on the New York and London stage, will join Everyman Resident Company Members Clinton Brandhagen, Deborah Hazlett, Beth Hylton, Wil Love, Bruce Randolph Nelson, and Carl Schurr in the 2008 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning play, August: Osage County.
