Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) will soon present two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster in a Broadway production of Violet, directed by Leigh Silverman. Based on the short story 'The Ugliest Pilgrim' by Doris Betts, Violet features music by Jeanine Tesori and book & lyrics by Brian Crawley. Violet will be produced in association with Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, David Mirvish, Barry and Fran Weissler, Elizabeth Armstrong, and Mary Jo and Ted Shen. The company met the press last night and you can check out photos from inside the celebration below!

I am excited to announce that the full cast ofViolet will include Alexander Gemignani, Ben Davis, Annie Golden, and Emerson Steele,who join the previously announced Sutton Foster, Colin Donnell, and Joshua Henry. The complete ensemble will include Austin Lesch, Anastasia McCleskey, Charlie Pollock, Jacob Keith Watson, Rema Webb andVirginia Ann Woodruff.

The musical will star two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster (Violet), Colin Donnell (Monty), Alexander Gemignani (Father) and Tony Award nominee Joshua Henry (Flick), and will feature Ben Davis (Preacher), Annie Golden (Hotel Singer/Old Lady), Emerson Steele (Young Violet) and Austin Lesch, Anastasia McCleskey, Charlie Pollock, Jacob Keith Watson, Rema Webb and Virginia Ann Woodruff.

Breaking: Sutton Foster to Return to Broadway This Spring in VIOLET!

Two-time Tony winner Sutton Foster starred in the Encores! Off-Center presentation of VIOLET back in July, and BroadwayWorld has just learned the the star will lead the show on Broadway in the Spring of 2014. Foster, who was previously set to play Sarasota's Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, had to cancel her March engagement because of a scheduling conflict with the upcoming production.

Off-Center presentation of the 2013 season, on July 17. Tickets for Violet, directed by Leigh Silverman, with music direction by Michael Rafter, sold out shortly after going on sale. Tickets for the rest of the Encores! Off-Center season are still available; the majority of tickets are $25.

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) and 1113 Productions (Steven Ullman, Executive Producer) presents Stephanie Umoh, most recently seen as 'Sarah' in the Broadway revival of Ragtime, in the cast of Falling For Eve for its final week. Ms. Umoh will play the role of 'Eve' starting performances on Tuesday, August 3rd until the show's scheduled closing on Sunday, August 8th. Ken Davenport and Robyn Goodman proudly announce that Lee Markham will take over the role of LUKE beginning April 3rd. Neil Haskell, who was featured on 'So You Think You Can Dance,' will play his last performance as Luke on Sunday, March 29th, when he joins the company of 9 to 5. Austin Lesch will play the role until Lee begins.
