The Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles (SCLA), under the artistic direction of Ben Donenberg, returns to The Japanese Garden on the West Los Angeles VA Campus with a new production - 'Henry IV' - condensing two of Shakespeare's plays and staged by Tony Award winning director Daniel Sullivan.  The world-class acting company includes Tom Hanks as Falstaff and Rita Wilson; with additional cast members to be announced shortly, as confirmed.  Tom Ware is the executive producer.

The life and work of one of the country's greatest and most admired folk balladeers is celebrated in the musical revue Woody Guthrie's American Song, which Palm Beach Dramaworks will present this summer from July 13 - August 5 at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre. Palm Beach Dramaworks Producing Artistic Director William Hayes announced today that the 2018 - 2019 season will be comprised of three twenty-first century works, including a world premiere and a musical, and two contemporary classics from the latter part of the twentieth century.

The Dramaworkshop, Palm Beach Dramaworks' lab for developing new plays, will be presenting staged readings of two fascinating works, both of which are open to the public. Up first is Lyle Kessler's House on Fire, a play that will receive its world premiere at PBD during the 2018-2019 season. This darkly comic twist on the Prodigal Son story will be performed on February 23 and 24.

Billy and Me , a new play by Terry Teachout , author of the acclaimed Satchmo at the Waldorf , will receive its world premiere on December 8 at Palm Beach Dramaworks. 'A work of fiction freely based on fact,' the play speculates on the tempestuous friendship between playwrights Tennessee Williams and William Inge . PBD Producing Artistic Director William Hayes , who suggested the idea to Teachout, directs the premiere, which runs through December 31, with specially priced previews on December 6 and 7.

Sandy Duncan soared on Broadway in Peter Pan, made a splash in My One and Only, and rocked it as Roxie in Chicago. OnTuesday, January 9, the multi-talented, three-time Tony Award nominee comes to Palm Beach Dramaworks to take part in the popular series Dramalogue Talking Theatre! Duncan will appear live, onstage with Sheryl Flatow, to discuss her fascinating, 60-year career that began in a summer production of The King and I in Dallas when she was 12. The program will be presented twice, at2pm and 7pm, at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre.

Get the new year off to a joyous start by spending some time in the company of Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, Irving Berlin, George and Ira Gershwin, Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe, and Frank Loesser. Bruce Linser, whose cabaret shows have been seen locally as well as internationally aboard SilverSea and Crystal Cruises, brings his popular evening of Broadway standards,Almost Like Being in Love, to Palm Beach Dramaworks' Cabaret Series from January 5-7. Palm Beach Dramaworks presents Lillian Hellman's The Little Foxes. Considered by many to be Hellman's masterpiece, this classic play about greed and the path of destruction it leaves in it's wake is as timely now as when it was written in 1939.

Shortly after The Little Foxes opened on Broadway in 1939, Lillian Hellman summed up the meaning of her play in an interview in theNew York Herald Tribune . I merely wanted, in essence, to say: 'Here I am representing for you the sort of person who ruins the world for us.'
