Velocity + The Dance Cartel to Present ONTHEFLOOR: WESTWARD HO!, 3/6-8

After a sold-out run at Ace Hotel NYC, the critically- acclaimed DANCE CARTEL makes its West Coast premiere of immersive dance experience ONTHEFLOOR, with a starry roster of special guests at Velocity Dance Center, Seattle. For their Velocity Guest Artist appearance The Dance Cartel joins forces with Seattle legends dance artist Amy O'Neal, 'spectacularly original' (New York Magazine) comedian/musician Reggie Watts, and contemporary dance company HYPERNOVA.

The Flea Theater will present the World Premiere of THE NOMAD, a new musical with book & lyrics by Tony Award nominee Elizabeth Swados and Guggenheim Fellow Erin Courtney, composed & directed by Swados. Previews begin February 26 with opening slated for February 28.

BAX is a fundamental resource for NYC dance and theater artists, providing critical urban residency support for the development of cutting edge new work. Since 1998, when BAX received a Bessie Award 'for building both a house and a home for the arts in Brooklyn,' BAX's service to NYC artists has deepened and broadened. Thousands of NYC performing artists come through BAX's doors each year to rehearse, perform, teach, curate, take part in residencies and act as artist advisors. The show will feature direction and multimedia projection design by Randy Blair (Fat Camp, Spidermusical, Perez Hilton Saves the Universe), and will play 2 performances (6:30 and 9:30).

CAP21 Presents THE DAUGHTERS, Closes 3/20

This March, the CAP21 Theatre Company opens its new theatre with a production of The Daughters , a new musical by Shaina Taub, will be the debut production of the CAP21 Theatre Company in its new state-of-the-art black box theatre. Now occupying two floors, the CAP21 facility features 2 performance spaces - the new Black Box Theatre in addition to The Shop, plus a total of 17 rehearsal studios.
