NJ Symphony Closes 2010-11 Classical Season with Mahler 3

Music Director Jacques Lacombe and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra present Mahler's Symphony No. 3 as the grand finale of the orchestra's 2010-11 classical season. Gheorghiu Withdraws from FAUST at the Met; McAnuff Responds

Although Angela Gheorghiu was set to star in the production, she withdrew due to what her management calls 'artistic reasons' - in this version of the classic, the setting will be modern, taking place in the 20th century as opposed to the usual staging of the 16th century. This shift is being cited as Gheorghiu's reason for leaving the production.
