Cast Announced for Tour of 9 TO 5

The producers of 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL today announced the full cast for the second production when it embarks on an 11-city tour of the UK and Ireland from 6 September 2019. Directed by Jeff Calhoun, with a book by Patricia Resnick who wrote the hit movie and music and lyrics by Dolly Parton.

To mark 9/5 Day today (9-5-2019), a celebration of both the iconic Dolly Parton song and the musical, the producers of 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL are delighted to announce 300,000 more tickets are now on sale for the London run of the musical as the show extends at the Savoy Theatre in to 2020.

The celebrity judges for West End Eurovision 2019 are today revealed as Amber Davies (2017 winner of ITV's 'Love Island' and currently playing Judy Bernly in '9 to 5' at the Savoy Theatre); Bonnie Langford (star of West End, television, film, radio and music, currently playing Roz in '9 to 5' at the Savoy Theatre), Wayne Sleep, OBE (dancer, choreographer, director and actor) and Tim Vincent ('Blue Peter' legend, actor and presenter).

Louise Redknapp re-joins the cast of 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL in the role of 'Violet Newstead' at the Savoy Theatre, London from tonight, Monday 25 March until 29 June 2019. 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL opened in the West End last month, where Dolly Parton attended the premiere and joined the cast on stage at the finale. Following the huge success of 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL at the Savoy Theatre in London's West End, the producers of the show are delighted to announce that a second production of the hit musical will play 11 cities throughout the UK and Ireland, opening at the Alexandra Theatre Birmingham on 6 September 2019, before visiting Manchester, Milton Keynes, Liverpool, Glasgow, Woking, Aberdeen, Cardiff, Sunderland, Edinburgh and Dublin. In a programme interview, Patricia Resnick - writer of both the original 1980 film and this 2008 musical adaptation - notes that Jane Fonda wanted to convey a political message about workplace sexism, but realised couching it in comedy would make it more palatable. Like composer Dolly Parton herself, who appears on video to top and tail the stage show, it's a considered combination of sugar and steel.
