New York Stage and Film has announced that its Annual Winter Gala, to be held this year on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at The Plaza Hotel (770 Fifth Avenue, New York City), will honor Tony Award winner Michael Mayer and veteran theatrical press agent Rick Miramontez.

The Hasty Pudding Institute of 1770 honored acclaimed Producer David Heyman last night as the 2014 recipient of the Order of the Golden Sphinx . The annual Order of the Golden Sphinx gala was held at the Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City. Heyman's critically acclaimed box office hit Gravity, directed by Alfonso Cuaron and starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney received 10 Academy Award nominations and won an outstanding seven Oscars. The Civilians, the award-winning New York-based theatre company, announces the members of its 2013-14 R & D Group. The group's emerging and established artists were selected from over one hundred applicants. The R & D Group is comprised of artists from multiple theatrical disciplines. Each artist or creative team will develop an original work over the season. The artists and projects were selected to represent a range of different strategies for making new work from creative inquiry and research. This diversity of approach helps feed a culture of innovation in the group, making the R & D Group an effective lab of experimentation for the field of investigative theater.
