The Lyric Stage Company of Boston's 2014-15 Season begins September 5 with Stephen Sondheim's masterpiece SWEENEY TODD, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. The musical thriller runs tonight, September 5 through October 11, 2014. The opening is set for September 7 at 3 p.m.

Philadelphia Theatre Company is pleased to announce Martin Zimmerman as the recipient of the third Terrence McNally New Play Award for the development of his play Let Me Count The Ways. The Terrence McNally New Play Award is a cash prize given annually to recognize a new play that celebrates the transformative power of art. The Award will also include a year of development support at PTC, including readings as well as administrative support and networking to help manage the future of the play beyond its time at PTC.

The Women's Theatre Project will present Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins tonight, February 28th through March 16th, 2014 at the Willow Theatre in Sugar Sand Park. It will be the first time the play has been produced in South Florida.

Philadelphia Theatre Company's PTC@Play Festival of new work will host a special onstage conversation with PTC's artist-in-residence playwright/performer ANNA DEAVERE SMITH, and two evenings of staged readings by the winners of the Terrence McNally New Play Award, playwrights BILL CAIN and A. ZELL WILLIAMS, all at PTC's home, the Suzanne Roberts Theatre at Broad and Lombard Streets.

The Lyons will run from today, December 6th through December 22nd, 2013, and Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins will play February 28th through March 16th, 2014. Kathleen Turner, an iconic film and stage star and chair of Planned Parenthood's Board of Advocates, will speak about reproductive rights and the state of women's health during a National Press Club luncheon today, Sept. 6.
