The International Association of Blacks in Dance (IABD) announces the world-renowned dance faculty and celebrated instructors for on the 1 | memphis, a dance class series. Classes offered across various genres for all levels.

On Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 7 p.m., Dance Against Cancer - the American Cancer Society's premiere dance event - is coming together with three other signature distinguished events, Coaches vs. Cancer Dinner Benefit, Hope Lodge Bash, and Financial Services Cares Gala, for the American Cancer Society Presents: NYC United Against Cancer.

There are certain Dance Companies that are in a class by themselves. Dance Theatre of Harlem is one of them. They not only encompass many forms of the Dance brilliantly, they are committed to diversity in their dancers and repertoire.

I was lucky enough to be one of the lucky ones to be in the Broad Stage audience recently when the extraordinary Dance Theatre of Harlem invited Los Angeles audiences, for the first time in way too many years, to join in with them in experiencing the wonders of neo-classical and contemporary ballet that is both of the moment and timeless. The evening's 105-minute program consisted of Brahms Variations, choreographed by Robert Garland (2016), Dancing on the Front Porch of Heaven, choreographed by Ulysses Dove (1993) and Vessels, choreographed by Darrell Grand Moultrie (2014), each more enchanting than the last!

Groove With Me's annual benefit, Tap & Tapas, took place on Monday, April 24 at Studio 450. The dazzling event included a walk around tasting of New York's hottest chefs and restaurants including Becky Flammino of Beauty & Essex, Jaime Sudberg of Vandal, Julian Medina of La Chula, Ryan Angulo & Justin Fulton of French Louie, Elpidio Escamilla of Corner Social, Garett McMahan of Baccarat Hotel, Joe Leone of Joe Leone's Italian Specialties, Joe LoNigro of Otto's Tacos, Rebecca Baez of Javelina, and Lynn Bound of Feinstein's/54 Below. Dance Theatre of Harlem (Virginia Johnson, Artistic Director; Anna Glass, Executive Director), is thrilled to announce that its 2017 hometown season will kick off on April 19 with a live performance by Grammy Award-winning recording artist India.Ariewith students from the Dance Theatre of Harlem School performing the world premiere of High Above, featuring choreography by DTH resident choreographer Robert Garland.

The Harlem Stage dance series, E-Moves promises to present a broad spectrum of choreographers of color who work across the spectrum of contemporary idioms. This year the acclaimed dance series has commissioned new works from two established and two emerging choreographers. Under the curatorship of Charmaine Warren, the E-Moves 18 lineup includes four artists with work that intersects the questions and impact of the world around them. Francesca Harper who continues to seek answers for life's challenges; Parijat Desai whose work is realized through her unique blend of contemporary dance and Indian forms; Kyle Marshall who quietly investigates black culture through dance; and Leyland Simmons who makes ballets that break from the classical mold.

Groove With Me's annual benefit, Tap & Tapas, will take place on Monday, April 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Dance Theatre of Harlem enjoyed a magnificent season at City Center.

Dance Theatre of Harlem Vision Gala held at Cipriani 42nd Street honored Grammy Award-Winning Opera Singer Jessye Norman with the Arthur Mitchell Vision Award; Theodore Bartwink (post-humously) and the Harkness Center for Dance with the Carl & Lily Pforzheimer Family Foundation Medal; Virtuoso Award Honorees Mario Baeza and Under Armour, Inc.

Catherine Hurlin, Shu Kinochi and Alison Stroming have been selected as scholarship recipients for the 2010-2011 season by the Dizzy Feet Foundation.
