Following its Tony-nominated hit Broadway run seen by tens of thousands, Tony Award winner John Leguizamo's one-man play LATIN HISTORY FOR MORONS will play the Majestic Theatre (224 E. Houston St.) in San Antonio, TX on July 27, 2019 at 8PM. Tickets go on sale this Friday, April 5 at 10AM.

Following its Tony-nominated hit Broadway run at Studio 54 seen by tens of thousands, The WOW Agency today announced that Tony Award winner John Leguizamo's one-man play LATIN HISTORY FOR MORONS will embark on a North American tour launching at the world famous Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York on June 20, 2019. The critically acclaimed production will continue to more than 15 cities across North America including stops in Atlanta, Dallas, Durham, Hartford, Miami, Minneapolis, Philadelphia and San Antonio among others, and will culminate with a seven-week engagement at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles. Pre-sales for the Apollo engagement will begin Tuesday, April 2 at 10 a.m. ET, and will go on-sale to the public on Friday, April 5 at 10 a.m. ET.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast for the world premiere of Kiss My Aztec! John Leguizamo teams up with Artistic Director Tony Taccone for this musical comedy, following their collaboration on the hit one-man show Latin History for Morons, which received its world premiere at Berkeley Rep before heading to Broadway. Leguizamo will serve as co-writer and co-lyricist only for Kiss My Aztec! - 11 other talented actors will perform in this production. Taccone will also direct.

Program 05, Lyric Voices, opens on March 27 at San Francisco Ballet with works that navigate the fine line between self-interest and self-obsession, and illuminate society's obsession with gadgets and devices. SF Ballet's Choreographer in Residence Yuri Possokhov's  “. . . two united in a single soul . . .” premieres during the triple-bill program, which runs through April 7 at SF War Memorial Opera House, and Christopher Wheeldon's Bound To and Trey McIntyre's Your Flesh Shall Be a Great Poem both return after their critical successes during 2018 Unbound: A Festival of New Works.

On January 13, 17 and 19 Franz Welser-Most and The Cleveland Orchestra continue an ongoing commitment to present opera at Severance Hall with a made-for-Cleveland production of Richard Strauss's Ariadne auf Naxos which is being performed for the first time in the Orchestra's history. In his years as music director, Welser-Most has led The Cleveland Orchestra in performances of many orchestral works by Richard Strauss, as well as presentations of four other Strauss operas: Elektra (2004), Der Rosenkavalier (2007), Salome (2012), and Daphne (2015).

The fifth annual TBA Awards Celebration will be held on Monday, Nov. 5 at the Herbst Theatre (401 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco). The Off-Broadway League today announced nominations in 19 categories for the 33rd Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. The Lortel Awards will be presented on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at NYU Skirball Center beginning at 7:00 PM EST.  This year's event will be hosted by actors Laura Benanti and Jason Jones and will once again serve as a benefit for The Actors Fund.

The producers of John Leguizamo's LATIN HISTORY FOR MORONS, announced today that the one-man play has become the first play to recoup its capitalization this season. LATIN HISTORY FOR MORONS recouped in the first 15 weeks of its limited run at Broadway's Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street). The original 16-week engagement was extended an additional three weeks on opening night, November 15, 2017.

This spring, American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) will present Simon Stephens's play Heisenberg (March 14-April 8, 2018), a hit both on Broadway and in London's West End.
