Deaf West's acclaimed production of Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik's Spring Awakening, directed by Michael Arden and choreographed by Spencer Liff, just began rehearsals for its Broadway transfer and company member Sean Grandillo is vlogging about the experience. He writes: 'So this week the cast of Deaf West's upcoming revival of Spring Awakening on Broadway started our rehearsals, and I couldn't be more excited. I thought I'd vlog my way through the process to share this incredible experience with the world!'

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that that Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Camryn Manheim ('The Practice,' 'Ghost Whisperer'), Drama Desk Award nominee Patrick Page (Cymbeline at Shakespeare in the Park, Casa Valentina, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark), and Theater World Award winner Russell Harvard (Tribes, 'Fargo,' There Will Be Blood), have completed the casting for Deaf West's acclaimed production of Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik's Spring Awakening, directed byMichael Arden and choreographed by Spencer Liff. Elizabeth Greene and Daniel Marmion also join the production as swings.

Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts ('The Wallis'), Deaf West Theatre and Cody Lassen announce Deaf West Theatre's innovative new production of Spring Awakening has been extended for six additional performances through June 14. This eight-time, Tony Award-winning Best Musical is performed simultaneously in American Sign Language and spoken English by a cast of 27. The production has been playing to sold out audiences and critical acclaim since its opening last week.

On June 7, Lin-Manuel Miranda's new mini-musical, 21 Chump Street, was featured at the Brooklyn Academy of Music's THIS AMERICAN LIFE as part of the 2014 'RadioLoveFest'. As a part of the event, nearly 50 actors, singers, dancers, musicians and comedians joined Ira Glass onstage at the Brooklyn Academy of Music's Opera House...to try some things they'd never tried before. The result? Journalism turned into opera, into plays, into a Broadway musical.
