Adam Riegler Named Kid's Night On Broadway Halloween Nat'l Ambassador

The Broadway League announced today that Adam Riegler, currently playing Pugsley Addams in the wonderful, wacky Broadway show The Addams Family, will serve as the National Ambassador for KIDS' NIGHT ON BROADWAY's special Halloween edition, presented with the support of PLAYBILL ®. This special edition of Kids' Night will salute UNICEF and the 60th Anniversary of their time-honored Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF program.

National High School Musical Theater Awards Announced Winners, 6/28

Two students were presented with JimmyTM Awards for Best Performance by an Actor and Actress on Monday, June 28 at Broadway's Marquis Theatre at the 2nd Annual National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA), presented by Pittsburgh CLO and Nederlander Alliances LLC. Alexandria Payne of the Tri-Cities High School in Atlanta won for her performance as ‘Ti Moune' in Once on This Island and Kyle Selig of Huntington Beach High School in Long Beach, CA won for his turn as ‘Don Lockwood' in Singin' in the Rain. Each student received $10,000 to further their education and they are eligible for four-year merit and need-based scholarship assistance to attend the NYU Tisch School of the Arts Department of Drama, Undergraduate at New Studio on Broadway: Music theatre and Acting, contingent upon acceptance into the program.

Last night, June 28, the 2nd Annual Jimmy Awards were held at the Marquis Theatre, home to COME FLY AWAY. Kathie Lee Gifford hosted and presenters included nine time Tony-winner Tommy Tune, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka of A Little Night Music, and Krysta Rodriguez and Adam Riegler of The Addams Family. Lurch may be known as a mute, but he certainly has lots to say when it comes to writing! This towering mute has been shambling around the house forever. He is not a very good butler, but a faithful one. He is often sent to pick the awful herbs from the garden, for instance, but will often forget the most important ingredient of all, say Eye of Newt. He is shame-faced about his oversight and the object of good-natured ridicule from the family. The children are his favorites and he guards them against good influences at all costs. One eye is opaque, the scanty hair is damply clinging to his narrow flat head. He will gladly undertake to dump boiling oil on the carol singers, but generally the family regards him as something of a joke.

Borders Highlights Original ADDAMS FAMILY Illustrations, 5/14; Lippa, Elice & Brickman Lead Discussion

This Friday, May 14, beginning at 5:00 pm, Borders at the Time Warner Center (Columbus Circle) will highlight the work of Charles Addams and the new Broadway musical based on his beloved family of characters with The Addams Family: From Illustration to the Stage. The event will feature a panel discussion with Kevin Miserocchi, Director of The Tee and Charles Addams Foundation and author of the new collection of Addams' sketches titled The Addams Family: An Evilution, and the musical's authors - book-writers Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice and composer/lyricist Andrew Lippa. The panel will discuss Addams' body of work and how it informed the musical's creation. The event will also include a performance by Kevin Chamberlin, a Tony nominee for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his role as Uncle Fester.
