FRIGID New York has announced recipients of their annual New York City Fringe Festival Awards, which were bestowed to recipients on the closing night of the 2024 New York City Fringe Festival on Sunday, April 21.

'Fanatical Optimism'-written and performed by Adam LeBow-will play for four performances as part of the annual New York City Fringe Festival at Under St. Marks, 94 St. Marks Place, NYC, from April 7 through April 19 at various times.

For over 15 years FRIGID New York has been presenting an annual festival of fringe theatre in New York City. This Spring their biggest festival of the year will be rebranded as the New York City Fringe Festival.

ELAN Ensemble has announced its inaugural production, the world premiere of How We're Different from Animals, based on short stories from "No One Belongs Here More Than You" by Miranda July. Under the direction of Ovation Award nominee Jonathan Muñoz-Proulx (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest), the production is set to open on Friday, February 22, at 8pm and run through March 24 only at the Atwater Village Theatre.           

Next to Normal explores how one suburban household copes with crisis and mental illness. Winner of three 2009 Tony Awards, including Best Musical Score and the 2010 Pulitzer Prize, Next to Normal was also chosen as 'one of the year's ten best shows' by critics around the country, including The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, Rolling Stone and The New York Times.

Greenwood is an original musical comedy about recapturing the vitality of lost youth. Following the journey of a group of teenagers who meet at summer camp, Greenwood explores the many choices of youth and young adulthood and the joys and pains of discovering and staying true to who you truly are. The title comes from the name of the summer camp where the protagonists first met-a very special place whose magic is not of the supernatural variety, but, rather, comes from the power of acceptance, creative freedom, and love. Greenwood enjoyed an 8 performance run at the New York Musical Theatre Festival in 2011. GCPA is thrilled to work with the Greenwood team to move it into its next phase!

Original Annie star Andrea McArdle and Rent Broadway cast alum Cary Shields return to summer camp in NYMF's Greenwood, an original musical comedy about a group of friends who share a profound experience at a performing arts camp and come back together to try to recreate it 25 years later.
