At 10:32 pm last Friday night, the news began to leak. Cell phones began buzzing backstage across the Great White Way and during the curtain calls of some shows like Priscilla Queen of the Desert and The Normal Heart, cast members shared the historic news with exuberant audiences: the New York State Senate had voted 33 to 29 in favor of marriage equality. New York had just become the sixth state in the nation to legalize gay marriage.

On Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the 'Citizens Interested in Arts' Membership Luncheon in Miami Beach, Florida, the prestigous organization's first-ever 'Champion of the Arts' Award will be presented to legendary publicist Charlie Cinnamon at the newly renovated, historic Eden Roc Hotel, in the Ocean Tower Ballroom. Theresa Anne Swain Named LA's Next Great Stage Star 2009

Upon the January 27th Finale of six, sold-out nights of competition among 18 contestants at Sterling's Upstairs at Vitello's in Studio City, CA, the vivacious Theresa Anne Swain was named LA's Next Great Stage Star 2009. The annual talent search has become the most high profile stage competition in Los Angeles since its inception in 2006.
Ms. Swain was awarded a $1000 cash prize, an equally lucrative, paid headlining engagement at Sterling's Upstairs. SHNSF Premiere of 'EVER AFTER' Musical Cancelled, Creative Team Continues to Develop Project

BroadwayWorld has learned that the planned San Francisco 'Best of Broadway' series world premiere engagement of the musical EVER AFTER, based on the popular 1998 Twentieth Century Fox film has been indefinitely postponed. Shorenstein Hays Nederlander Theatres, overseen by Carole Shorenstein Hays and Robert Nederlander, was set to present EVER AFTER this April as part of their 2009 season. EVER AFTER producer Adam Epstein (Hairspray, The Wedding Singer, Cry-Baby) said in a statement, 'The previously announced production of EVER AFTER has been moved from this season's line up as the creative team continues to develop the musical for a future production.'
