Oliver! The Musical is currently playing at the new home of The Secret Theatre to delighted crowds. This is perhaps the most ambitious Secret Theatre Academy production to date with a large cast of 24, smoking chimneys and a multi level set. See photos from the production.

Playhouse Theatre Academy will welcome back Stephanie Pope Lofgren for two exciting Fosse master classes. Stephanie is currently directing Playhouse on Park’s production of LADY DAY AT EMERSON’S BAR AND GRILL, which tells the story of Billie Holiday’s final performance.

School-year Academy offers an opportunity for students to choose specific classes based on their personal interests and to dive more deeply into a specific topic. Whether you are new to the Springer Theatre Academy or a seasoned veteran, school-year Academy has something to offer everyone! You may choose to take one, two, or all three blocks of classes. 

On Tuesday, September 6th at 5:30 p.m. the Pittsburgh Playhouse at Point Park University welcomes acclaimed Brooklyn dance troupe Urban Bush Women to their weeklong Point Park University residency with a kickoff social event hosted at Hill Dance Academy Theatre (HDAT) at 2900 Bedford Avenue.

Pulse Theatre will present Strings Attached, an exciting new American play by multi-award winning Poet and playwright Carole Buggé, which merges the world of physics into a love triangle on a train ride.

After a successful Grand Opening event this past spring, Falcetti School of Music and Playhouse Theatre Academy are hosting an Open House filled with summer fun and mini classes! The Open House will be held at Simsmore Square in Simsbury, CT on Saturday, September 10th from 1pm to 4pm.

Producing Artistic Director Brett J. Roden, the staff and board of Virginia Children's Theatre (VCT) are pleased to announce the recipients of the annual scholarships awarded by VCT. Ben Armstrong will receive the Sarabeth Hammond Scholarship and Ronin Ramey will receive the ARD Properties Scholarship for the 2022-2023 Season. 

As last year's Songs of Summer evening concerts were a hit, Gateway Theatre has decided to expand and offer a special afternoon full of fun for families and children on August 27th. Taking place in the grassy area just outside the theatre, the whole family is invited to enjoy a memorable and lively performance.

The Kings Theatre is establishing a new arts academy that will have classes and opportunities for all ages and is introducing a scholarship programme that will fund £25,000 worth of places in a year. The Kings Theatre Arts Academy starts in September with the rebranding of its youth theatre school.

“Shaping the Arts: Black Femme Artists and Creators” is the centerpiece of the Point Park University's Playhouse Presents 22-23 season, shining a light on Black femme artists and creators with performance, dance, and music. 

Actress, author, and activist Marlee Matlin will speak at the Moore Theatre on Friday, Sept. 16, sharing the highs and lows of her Hollywood career and journeys as an activist.

 Inspired by the little-known, larger-than-life true story of Robert Smalls, the first African American hero of the Civil War, Will Geer’s Theatricum Botanicum presents the world premiere of Trouble the Water, freely adapted by Ellen Geer from the 2019 award-winning historical novel by Rebecca Dwight Bruff.

Returning to Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival for the first time since 2002, Denver-based modern dance company, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble, will perform in the Ted Shawn Theatre from Aug. 17-21, with pieces enriched in emotion, femininity, war, race, and elegance.

Many interpretations have been given to Franz Kafka’s novella A Report to an Academy, with academics taking different roads. Published in 1917, an ape, trapped and abused by humans, learns their behaviour not out of desire to assimilate but to survive. The fact that it’s the work of a German-speaking Czech born to a Jewish family in Prague, written in the middle of the First World War, certainly carries specific implications. 

Theatre Tulsa Academy will start the theatre company’s 100th season with two youth productions in July, “Shrek Jr.” and “Into The Woods, Jr.” Theatre Tulsa Academy is an interactive theatre training program for youth. The course trains students on the essentials of musical theatre – auditioning, acting, vocal music, dance, and more. 

The Academy of The Company Theatre Conservatory has announced its upcoming production of Urinetown. Winner of three Tony Awards, two Outer Critics Circle Awards and two Obie Awards, Urinetown is a hilarious musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, and musical theatre itself!

Fairfield Halls General Manager Jonathan Higgins, and the whole team at BH Live, have announced the launch of a brand-new Summer Stage Academy coming to the venue this summer, in partnership with Resident Company SAVVY Theatre.
