I get to choose a different phrase on stage as Sally Brown in The York Theatre's production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Sally, like me, is a carefree, spirited girl who doesn't care what anyone thinks. She won't let anyone tell her how she should feel. Sally is confident and loves who she is. Sally is a sassy, pushy yet altogether lovable character and I am so excited to bring her to life this summer.

Every year, Thodos Dance Chicago cultivates new dance creation through its nationally renowned New Dances series, Chicago's earliest and most extensive in-house choreography project, and always a highlight of the city's summer dance season.

Thodos Dance Chicago Founder and Artistic Director Melissa Thodos revealed today details about the company's 2015-16 season. Already announced is Sono's Journey, Thodos Dance Chicago's next world premiere, contemporary dance story, debuting January 9, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at Chicago's Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University.

 While working in the Theatre Unleashed Writer's Group, generating content for the company's wildly popular show 25 Plays Per Hour, Wendy Gough Soroka noticed something about the scenes she was writing.

Acclaimed playwright Michael Gordon Shapiro figured out something vital to his career when he was in his twenties: Writing musicals is hard. "I decided that the way to get good at it was to write a number of short shows in varied dramatic and musical styles," he said. "Eventually I realized that I had written enough to get a free, full-length musical by glomming them all together."

A school favorite comes to 54 Below!

On September 2nd and 3rd, You're A Good Man Charlie Brown The Musical, is coming to 54 BELOW. But this isn't your usual production of the show. This concert version of the musical will have a cast of kids, (12-13 years old) which is different from past productions of the show, since it is usually performed with a cast of adults playing children.

At the age of 14, actress Abigail Shapiro is quite the busy lady. With credits like Cindy Lou Who in HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS! and the titular character in LIBERTY under her belt, she is currently gearing up to portray Sara Crewe in a special cabaret presentation of Andrew Lippa's musical A LITTLE PRINCESS. Recently, she and I sat down to discuss this exciting, new cabaret event.

Thodos Dance Chicago launches its 23rd 'Chicago Inspired' season Saturday, November 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Auditorium Theatre, kicking off the historic Chicago venue's 125th Anniversary 'Made in Chicago' dance series.

Sony Classical is delighted to announce the release of songs from the original motion-picture soundtrack and the original score by Theodore Shapiro from the upcoming movie St. Vincent available digitally on October 21 and on CD on October 27. A comedy drama, St. Vincent opens nationwide on October 24 and stars Academy Award nominees Bill Murray, Melissa McCarthy and Naomi Watts.
