Returning to Stratford East after two decades, the vibrant ska musical The Big Life mixes the plot of Love's Labour's Lost with the arrival of the Windrush generation to London. With a big heart and a sense of fun, it takes an original approach to highlighting the plight of the new migrants who see their dreams collapse.

Recently, we chatted with Rachel John and Ashley Samuels, who play Zulieka and Ferdy in The Big Life. We discussed the different paths they took to get into the theatre industry, the roles they play within the show and what it is like being a part of the revival twenty years after.

Eliza Schuyler Hamilton, the wife of Alexander, 'who lived, died, and told their story,' 50 years after the death of her husband, closes the show, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s 'Hamilton,' with hands clasped on her chest, and an ambiguous gasp. Ask any actress who played Eliza what the hard breathing was; each one would give a vague answer because it was a different moment every time for each one.

After streaming a version last year, the theatre is now back to hosting one of the highlights of the festive season, complete with Victorian bell-ringing, mince pies and one of literature’s most heart-warming stories of love and redemption

Production images are now available from Matthew Warchus’ big-hearted, smash hit Old Vic production of Charles Dickens’ immortal classic A Christmas Carol, joyously adapted for the stage by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) and starring Stephen Mangan (The Split, Green Wing, Episodes). 

The Old Vic has announced the casting for Matthew Warchus’ big-hearted, smash hit production of Charles Dickens’ immortal classic A Christmas Carol, joyously adapted for the stage by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child). The Old Vic’s A Christmas Carol returns with a live audience on 24 November, with previews from 13 November. 

Plans for music publishing and licensing of select songs and projects from the beloved Sherman family legacy portfolio best known for film scores including Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and theme park songs such as It's a Small World After All are also underway.
