Birmingham Rep's highly acclaimed, five star production of The Play What I Wrote will be streamed on demand via the theatre's website for a very limited time from today, Tue 15 Mar.

Based on his 1997 smash hit film and adapted for the stage by Oscar-winning writer Simon Beaufoy, The Full Monty is the bittersweet story of a group of unemployed Sheffield steelworkers who, inspired by a local Chippendale show, turn to stripping to raise some much-needed money.

Simon Beaufoy's THE FULL MONTY gets down to business at the King's Theatre in Glasgow later this month with an all-star cast and stellar moves as part of the production's final ever UK tour.

The Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) and the Writers Guild of America West (WGAW) tonight announced the winners of the 2019 Writers Guild Awards for outstanding achievement in writing for film, television, new media, videogames, news, radio/audio, promotional, and graphic animation categories at concurrent ceremonies at the Edison Ballroom in New York City and The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

One of the most popular and critically acclaimed British dramas is heading to the Belgrade Theatre this February as The Full Monty rounds off its last ever UK tour in 2019.

The story of six out-of-work, impoverished steelworkers from Sheffield with nothing to lose, the original film took the world by storm and the stage version has become one of Britain's most successful shows. It was adapted for stage by original scriptwriter Simon Beaufoy, whose other film credits include The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Salmon Fishing In The Yemen and Slumdog Millionaire.

Hollyoaks and EastEnders actor Gary Lucy first took on the lead role of Gaz in the 2014 touring production of The Full Monty. He now returns to the part for the current touring production.

The UK Tour of Tim Firth's new British musical, THE BAND, with the music of Take That, celebrated its opening night at Manchester Opera House last night, 26 September. The stage version of the hit film The Full Monty comes to The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury,  next month (February). 

As previously announced, the 2016/17 UK Tour of Simon Beaufoy's THE FULL MONTY is led by Gary Lucy as Gaz, with Andrew Dunn as Gerald, Louis Emerick as Horse, Chris Fountain as Guy and Kai Owen as Dave.  Anthony Lewis is now playing the role of Lomper, as Joe Absolom had to withdraw due to contractual filming commitments.
