Fire Island Dance Festival raised a record $700,572 for Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. 

SOHUMANITY, the newly founded New York City based theatre organization, by Broadway talent, Tanya Birl-Torres, joined by Sasha Hutchings, is scheduled to complete its Critical Breaks Artist in Residency at Hi-Arts with a public share of a work in progress, 'A Play in 3 Movements,' at Hi-Arts/ El Barrio's Artspace in East Harlem on April 21, 2023.

Broadway Dallas and Broadway Across America will present the Dallas premiere of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s OKLAHOMA! at the Winspear Opera House from May 31 – June 12, 2022 as part of the Germania Insurance Broadway Series presented by Broadway Dallas. 

Warning: this is not your traditional version of OKLAHOMA!, and good riddance. Without changing a word of the book or lyrics, director Daniel Fish has created a revival of the 1943 musical that highlights different aspects of the material simply by changing the tone in which scenes are presented. The story has always been one of a community banding together against an outsider, but that aspect of the show is usually buried in favor of the sunnier, romantic elements of the plot. Not so this time. While the show loses some of its oomph by no longer being presented in the round, as it was during its run on Broadway at the Circle in the Square Theatre, there is still plenty to like even when presented in a traditional space like the Providence Performing Arts Center’s.

The national tour of Daniel Fish’s reimagined Oklahoma!, now playing at the Forrest Theatre, is Oklahoma! like you’ve never seen it. Darker and sultrier than you ever imagined Rodgers & Hammerstein’s magnum opus could be, this production makes an almost 80-year-old musical feel not only modern, but dangerous.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will present the Washington, D.C. premiere of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s OKLAHOMA! at the Kennedy Center’s Eisenhower Theater April 5–10, 2022.

In March of 1943, the audience that poured into New York’s St. James Theatre had no idea they were witnessing the the birth of the musical comedy as we know it today. The maiden production of composer Richard Rodgers and lyricist Oscar Hammerstein’s OKLAHOMA! would change the face of Broadway forever. Flash forward 80 years and audiences once again had no idea what they would encounter in Director Daniel Fish’s dark disjointed OKLAHOMA!

The re-imagined version of Rodgers and Hammerstein's OKLAHOMA! is dark and twisting. It's controversial to say the least, and it makes its national tour stop now through January 30th at the Civic Center. OKC University alum Sasha Hutchings leads the dynamic and diverse cast in this modernized take on a musical theatre staple.

The Kimmel Cultural Campus will present the Philadelphia premiere of the reimagined Rodgers & Hammerstein's OKLAHOMA!, running March 8 through March 20 at the Forrest Theatre. The 2021-22 national tour will mark the first time a First-Class Equity production of Oklahoma! has toured North America in more than 40 years.

Roger and Hammerstein's seminal work of musical theatre Oklahoma! has long been a favorite of those who grew up with the 1955 film starring Shirley Jones and Gordon MacRae with it's incredibly catchy company numbers and timeless message of following one's heart no matter the cost.

The North American tour of Rogers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma! is now playing 25 cities during the 2021-2022 season including stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Chicago and Nashville, and more.

The Best of Broadway will present the Lowcountry premiere of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s OKLAHOMA! at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center  May 21 & 22, 2022.  Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Monday, December 13 at 10AM.
