Jake Gyllenhaal is coming to the small screen in a forthcoming legal thriller. Presumed Innocent, based on the novel by Scott Turow, will see its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival in New York during June 5-16. Presumed Innocent is an eight-episode limited series starring and executive produced by Jake Gyllenhaal, hailing from David E. Kelley and executive producer J.J. Abrams, and is based on the New York Times bestselling novel of the same name by Scott Turow.

This sensational drama tells the tale of Troy Maxson, a former star of the Negro baseball leagues who now works as a garbage man in 1957 Pittsburgh. Excluded as a black man from the major leagues during his prime, Troy’s bitterness takes its toll on his relationships with his wife and his son, who now wants his own chance to play ball. Revived in 2010 starring Denzel Washington in the lead role. Innovative playwright August Wilson gives an unflinching look at the African American experience in the 1950s. Touching, funny, and occasionally brutal.

Ice Spice, the popular rapper, will be making her acting debut in Spike Lee's next film. A remake of the 1963 Akira Kurosawa thriller, she will join Denzel Washington (who was previously announced) in her first feature film. In a Tweet, Apple confirmed production on the film with a photo of Lee and Washington.
