Center Stage Records has released 'Steven Pasquale: Some Other Time.'

Urban Stages will present its 39th annual benefit, taking place on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023 starting a 6:30pm at the legendary club The Players - 16 Gramercy Park South, NYC. 

Acclaimed guitarist/vocalist John Pizzarelli celebrates his new album Stage & Screen with album release concert on Friday, June 2 at Scullers Jazz Club.

This show marks Bay Area Cabaret's 2022-23 Season finale, and features Grammy Award-winning guitarist and singer John Pizzarelli; his wife Broadway singer/actress, Jessica Molaskey; and the San Francisco debut of their daughter, singer/songwriter, Maddie Pizzarelli.

It should come as no surprise that Van Morrison has made an album inspired by skiffle. Van Morrison’s love of skiffle dates back to his childhood. He would hang out at the famed Belfast record store Atlantic Records, where he’d hear early 20th century folk, blues and jazz from the likes of Lead Belly and Jelly Roll Morton.

Having recently released its lead single ‘Streamline Train’, Van Morrison now presents another preview of the 23-track album as he unveils the follow-up, ‘Worried Man Blues’. As with many influential folk and skiffle songs, ‘Worried Man Blues’ has emerged in many different forms over the years.

World-renowned guitarist and singer John Pizzarelli has been hailed for reinvigorating the Great American Songbook and re-popularizing jazz. Over the years, he expanded his repertoire to include songs by Paul McCartney, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Tom Waits, Antônio Carlos Jobim and The Beatles. His interest in Frank Sinatra led him to dedicate two albums to the legendary vocalist: “Dear Mr. Sinatra” and “Sinatra & Jobim @ 50.” 

GHOSTLIGHT DELUXE, an imprint of Ghostlight Records, has announced that the new album from famed guitarist and recent Grammy Award winner John Pizzarelli, Better Days Ahead, will be available Friday, April 16 in digital and streaming platforms.

As a producer and musician, his credits include albums by the Irish band Horslips, Lou Reed and Elliott Murphy. Katz studied guitar with Dave Van Ronk and Rev. Gary Davis. Between 1963 and 1980, he knew and was friends with seemingly everyone in rock 'n' roll and appeared on iconic stages at the Monterey Pop Festival, Newport Folk Festival, Woodstock, the Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall and the Ed Sullivan Show. He dined with Brian Epstein, partied with Groucho Marx, jammed with Mose Allison, worked with the Beatles' George Martin, shared a bag of potato chips with Jimi Hendrix and was told to get a haircut by Mickey Spillane. He was a producer of hit albums (for Lou Reed), a record company executive (Mercury, Green Linnet) and songwriter ('Sometime in Winter,' 'Steve's Song ).
