Carly Meyer BIO

Carly prides herself as being both interested in and equally committed to classical opera as well as modern musical theatre. Her most recent roles include Mary, in The Secret Garden at Lake Forest Theatre, and Crystal in Little Shop of Horrors. Some of Carly’s other favorite roles include Fiona in Shrek the Musical (The Performer’s School), Spirit One in Mozart's Magic Flute, Joanne in Godspell, Cinderella from Into the Woods, and the Sour Kangaroo in Seussical. Recently she also participated in Bare, a pop opera and Cabaret with Another Door Theater Company.
Vocally, Carly was the fan favorite winner of Suburban Chicago's Got Talent as well as a featured performer for KIDZ ROC at the Clay Cooper Theater in Branson, Missouri. As a recent winner at the Sinfonietta Bel Canto Vocal Competition and a finalist in Opera Idol, Carly has been able to pursue her passion for classical repertoire. In addition she can be seen singing with #REMIXED, a pop Accapella group out of the Performer’s School in Highwood. She is also trained in Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Tap.

Writers Theatre Hosts TREVOR The Musical Reunion With Marc Bruni and Original Cast

Writers Theatre Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma announce a reunion of the original company of TREVOR the musical. The reunion will be presented in four weekly video installments on Writers Theatre's official Facebook page and YouTube Channel beginning Wednesday, November 18 at 7pm.

Broadway In Chicago is delighted to announce the twenty-four students nominated for Best Actor and Best Actress, and nominees for Best Production presented by Guardian Music Travel, Best Direction and Best Scenic Design presented by SPL for the seventh annual Illinois High School Musical Theatre Awards.
