It's the end of an era at the Lyric Hammersmith, as it is Sean Holmes' final season as artistic director - but it has begun in terrific style with the premiere of a new play with music, written by Matt Jones and Bloc Party singer-songwriter Kele Okereke. It is directed by Southpaw Dance Company's artistic director Robby Graham, and stars Tyrone Huntley and Billy Cullum as Obi and Alex, a gay couple contemplating marriage whilst battling secrets from their pasts.

The world premiere of Leave to Remain, a new play with songs by Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke and writer Matt Jones (Doctor Who, Mr Selfridge), runs 18 January - 16 February 2019 at the Lyric Hammersmith. Kele has written 14 original new tracks for the show and the soundtrack will be released on press night, Thursday 24 January 2019.

Regent's Park Open Air Theatre presents Little Shop of Horrors. Directed by Maria Aberg, the production plays 03 August - 15 September.

The British Theatre Academy is to present The Tony Award-winning musical In The Heights from Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator of the global hit sensation Hamilton at The Stockwell Playhouse on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 October.

A production of Jonathan Larson's ground-breaking Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical RENT will visit Coventry's Belgrade Theatre this May.

Inspired by Puccini's classic opera La boheme, RENT features unforgettable music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson including the much-loved songs Seasons of Love, Take Me or Leave Me and La Vie Boheme. Winner of four Tony® Awards, six Drama Desk Awards and the hugely prestigious Pulitzer Prize for Drama, it ran on Broadway for an astonishing 12 years.

The BBC recently welcomed Lucie Jones as one of the six artists chosen to perform the songs competing for the UK's entry into the Eurovision Song Contest. The ballad that Lucie sang, 'Never Give Up On You,' is the work of composers and lyricists The Treatment, Emmelie de Forest and Lawrie Martin. Watch her perform (starting at 27:45) HERE!
