BWW Preview: Encore Theatre District Presents FALLING, By Deanna Jent, May 17-26
Jeremiah Rhoads

Encore Theatre District announces FALLING, a play by Deanna Jent, as its next production.

FALLING explores the complicated reality of a family with an autistic member. When a relative comes to visit, the entire family is thrown out of equilibrium, with everyone trying to balance what is best for the family with what is best for them, personally. The play asks, "How do you love someone who is difficult to love?"

The show will be directed by Encore Theatre District’s Artistic Director, Tiffanie Patscheck, who directed two previous productions, Lydia by Octavio Solis and Beyond Therapy by Christopher Durang. The cast features Jeremiah Rhoads as Joshua, the severely autistic young man whose behavior causes tension within the family. Ann Van Haney plays Tami, Joshua's mother, who struggles to accept that she may no longer be able to take care of Joshua. Michael Hill is Dan, Tami's husband and Joshua's father, who worries that his wife cares more about Josh than their marriage. Brenna Williams is Lisa, Dan and Tami's daughter and Josh's sister who is sick of her parents neglecting her in order to take care of her brother. Rounding out the cast is Alden West as Grammy Sue, who comes to visit the family and sets everything off its course.
