Palm Beach Opera celebrated the company's upcoming gala and its Gala Host Committee with an intimate performance by Palm Beach Opera Apprentice Artists at Lee Ann and Jeffrey Alderton's Palm Beach home on Jan. 8.

Attendees included invited guests and the company's gala benefactors, whose support helps develop Palm Beach Opera's largest annual fundraising event, which showcases a prominent artist over an elegant dinner. The 2019 Gala will feature an intimate performance by internationally renowned tenor Matthew Polenzani at Manalapan's Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa on March 2.

The reception at the Alderton residence featured cocktails and passed hors d'oeuvres, followed by a welcome message from Managing Director David Walker who thanked the Gala Host Committee and chairmen, shared insights into the company's Apprentice Artist Program, and introduced the evening's featured artists. Guests enjoyed a performance by Palm Beach Opera Apprentice Artists Suzannah Waddington, Pavel Suliandziga, Jenny Anne Flory and Michael Miller, accompanied by Kesenia Leletkina.

"Thanks to the extraordinary leadership of our Gala Host Committee, and the commitment of our Gala Chairs Lee Ann and Jeffrey Alderton, we will again provide a unique event for our arts-thriving community," said Managing Director David Walker. "To be able to present an illustrious artist like Matthew Polenzani at one of South Florida's most prestigious venues is a testament to the strong support we receive from our Host Committee."
