Osceola Arts Announces 2018-19 Theatre Season

Osceola Arts is excited to announce an amazing list of plays and musicals for the 2018-19 Theatre Season. The season begins in October and runs through August 2019. Show titles, dates, and descriptions are as follows:

Evita: October 5 - October 28

With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, this musical features iconic songs "Buenos Aires," and "Don't Cry for Me Argentina." This Tony-award winner tells the story of a mysterious and determined actress and how she became the powerful and controversial first lady of Argentina.

Miracle on 34th Street the Musical: November 30 - December 23

Meredith Willson's musical take on a holiday classic! When a nice old man, claiming to be Santa Claus, is institutionalized as insane, a young lawyer decides to defend him by arguing in court that he is the real thing. The perfect holiday treat for the whole family!

The Nerd: January 25 - February 10

In this extraordinarily inventive comedy meet Rick Steadman, an unexpected guest at a friend's birthday party. This socially-awkward oaf with improper behavior and a lack of common sense throws this festive gathering into complete shambles in a series of hilarious incidents.

Sister Act: March 1 - March 24

Based on the popular 1992 movie, Deloris Van Cartier is a woman hiding out in a convent. While there, she helps her fellow sisters find their voices while rediscovering her own. With powerful music, amazing dance numbers and a moving storyline this is a feel-good comedy musical!

Lafferty's Wake: April 12 - April 28

Toast the late, great Charlie Lafferty, as he is waked in grand style at the local pub. Join Charlie's widow, his sweet daughter, bumbling son-in-law, the parish priest, and the savvy innkeeper as they celebrate the life and times of a ramblin', gamblin' man.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest: June 14 - June 30

The patients at Oregon State Mental Institution are simply trying to make it through the days without angering the stringent Nurse Ratched. In enters dangerously charming ward newcomer Randle McMurphy and conflict ensues leading to a revolt against the staff in this stage adaption of the Ken Kesey novel.

Newsies: July 12 - August 4

This Disney film turned popular musical tells the invigorating tale of a band of young "newsies" and their charismatic leader, Jack Kelly. Inspired by the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899, this hit is packed with stellar dance numbers, uplifting anthems and a timeless message.

New Season Tickets Packages and single show tickets will go on sale to the general public June 5th. Season Tickets include all seven productions for $120. Current Season Ticket holder renewals are currently available. There are several single show ticket prices including Senior, adult, student, and group.
