Jamie Brickhouse (voices on Beavis and Butthead; four-time Moth SLAM champ, New York Times published author) returns to the FRIGID Festival with his second award-winning solo show, I Favor My Daddy, on the heels of a sold out run at FringeNYC 2018, the New York International Fringe Festival where it was awarded "Best Bet" in a rave review by Theater is Easy. It's the follow-up to his critically-acclaimed and multi-award-winning solo show, Dangerous When Wet: Booze, Sex, and My Mother. (It won an "Audience Choice Award" in the 2017 FRIGID Festival.) That show was about Jamie's drinking and sexuality, and his Texas tornado of a mother Mama Jean. I Favor My Daddy is about Jamie's father Earl aka Daddy Poo and his drinking and sexuality. "With this show, I've flipped the artistic process," says Brickhouse. "I wrote and published Dangerous When Wet the memoir first. This time, I Favor My Daddy the show comes out first. See it before it's a book!"

Daddy Poo is an octogenarian, ribald Catholic conservative accepting of his son's homosexuality and arrested alcoholism, but is he in denial about his own? After he dies suddenly Jamie struggles to realize that the constant postmortem refrain of the folks in town-"You favor your daddy,"-is true from his skin down to his marrow. Is Jamie all the things Daddy Poo was, but didn't quite become: gay, alcoholic, writer? Is Jamie the full-blown version of Daddy Poo?

Jamie Brickhouse (Playwright and performer) is the author of the critically-acclaimed memoir and award-winning solo show Dangerous When Wet: Booze, Sex, and My Mother, which he has performed multiple times in New York, Washington, D.C, Minneapolis, and San Francisco with 2019 performances scheduled for Hopewell, NJ, Denver, CO, Edmonton, Canada. Awards for the show: Audience Choice Award FRIGID Festival NYC 2017; Theater Is Easy Best Bet FRIGID 2017; DC Metro Arts Best of DC Capital Fringe 2018; Best of Fringe Award and Sold Out Award both for San Francisco Fringe 2018. He has recorded voices on Beavis and Butthead, been featured on World Channel/PBS TV's Stories from the Stage, is a four-time Moth StorySLAM champion, National Storytelling Network Grand Slam champion, has been featured multiple times on Kevin Allison's Risk! (stage and national podcast), and is a fixture on the NYC storytelling circuit. His second solo show, I Favor My Daddy, premiered at FringeNYC, the New York International Fringe Festival, to sold out performances. The show is based on his forthcoming second memoir. He has been published in the New York Times, Washington Post, Daily Beast, Salon, Out, Huffington Post, and POZ.
