BONNIE'S LAST FLIGHT Featuring Barbara Walsh To Premiere As Part Of Next Door At NYTW

The Habitat and Bentertainment, in association with Ryan Gedrich, present the world premiere of Bonnie's Last Flight by Eliza Bent. Directed by Annie Tippe (Ghost Quartet), Bonnie's Last Flight is a three-part play set on an airplane. It finds the audience taking this theatrical trip as passengers: sitting on a tarmac before take-off, floating at cruising altitude, and buckling down for the wild and rocky descent back to land. As part of Next Door at NYTW, Bonnie's Last Flight is scheduled to run at the Fourth Street Theatre (83 East 4th St, Manhattan) from February 8 through March 2, with an opening night of February 13. Non-stop tickets are available at three levels: Economy Coach ($25), Comfort Plus ($40), and First Class Business Premium ($75). Audiences are limited to one carry-on item.

In Bonnie's Last Flight, shortly after liftoff, we learn that it's Jan's final retirement flight. Everyone on board knows, except for Greig, Jan's best friend and trusted co-worker of decades. As Greig waxes nostalgic, Jan worries about life post-retirement. LeeAnne, a klutzy newbie flight attendant with a dark past, must avoid her ex who's also on board. The captain, a waggish pilot with a weakness for unlimited Bloody Mary brunches, is caught in a love triangle, and Erik, the co-pilot with a heart of gold, can't get a word in edgewise.

In this comedy set on everyone's least favorite mode of transit, we must reckon with our crew's dreams and regrets and ask ourselves: What does it take to really start living?

The cast for Bonnie's Last Flight is led by Tony nominee Barbara Walsh (Falsettos, Company) as Jan, Ceci Fernandez (Tiny Beautiful Things) as LeeAnne, Federico Rodriguez (Selkie, The Hotel Colors) as Co-Pilot, Greig Sargeant (Elevator Repair Service, Target Margin Theater) as Greig, Sam Breslin Wright (Mr. Burns, a Post-Electric Play; The Temperamentals) as Pilot, a special appearance by Bent as Mark Twain, and Foxy Le Corgi as Bonnie.

Since moving to New York and graduating from Mac Wellman's celebrated playwriting program at Brooklyn College in 2014, Bent has steadily built a dual career as both a writer and actress. Last year, her "irresistibly raucous and impassioned" (New York Times) solo play Aloha, Aloha, or When I Was a Queen premiered at Abrons Arts Center. Prior to that, Bent was a featured performer in Anne Washburn's Little Bunny Foo Foo at Actors Theatre of Louisville and her play, On a Clear Day I Can See to Elba, received a staged reading at the Atlantic Theater Company.

With an award-winning cast that includes veterans of Broadway, Off-Broadway, and celebrated ensembles like Elevator Repair Service, The Civilians, and Target Margin Theater, Bonnie's Last Flight finds Bent, alongside director Annie Tippe, propelling her unique blend of humor, wit, and insight to ambitious new heights.

The production team for Bonnie's Last Flight includes Meredith Ries (scenic design), Oona Curley (lighting design), John Gasper (sound design), David Pym (video design), Heather McDevitt Barton (costume design), Rhys Roffey (props design), Bob Brownell (production stage manager), Emma Johnson (production manager), Megan Lang (master electrician), Caroline Gart (producer) and Ryan Gedrich (producer).

Performances of Bonnie's Last Flight will take place February 8-March 2 (see schedule above) at the Fourth Street Theatre, located at 83 East 4th St in Manhattan. Press performances are February 10 and 11 at 8pm for an opening on February 13 at 8pm.

Non-stop tickets are available at three levels: First Class Business Premium ($75) includes priority boarding, premium reserved seats, and, for those 21 years-old and over, a complimentary beverage; Comfort Plus ($40) includes priority boarding, reserved seats, and a complimentary snack; Economy Coach ($25) are general admission tickets and are the last to board. Tickets are available online at NYTW.org, by phone at 212-460-5475, or in-person at the NYTW Box Office. Standard ticketing fees apply. New York Theatre Workshop members and donors receive discounted tickets for the Next Door at NYTW series.
