GOD SHOWS UP Will End Off-Broadway Run July 21

Producer Eric Krebs announced today that God Shows Up, the new comedy-drama by noted theatre journalist and playwright Peter Filichia will end its engagement at The Actor's Temple Theatre (339 West 47th Street - between 8th and 9th Avenue) following the performance on Sunday, July 21 at 3pm.
After a successful run at the 62-seat Playroom Theater, "God" moved to a few blocks west where it began previews on April 6 and opened on April 13.
"It is always a challenge to produce a new play commercially off-Broadway," says Producer Eric Krebs. "With ten out of ten positive internet reviews and excellent audience response day after day, we have not been able to bring any real media attention to God Shows Up. "Without a star or a subscription audience that the many non-profit theaters have, there is little possibility that a fine small play will get seen and heard by the major media. But that is the reality of the live theater that we have dedicated our efforts to."
God Shows Up asks: What happens when God chooses to drop in to his creation of Earth after an absence of a couple of thousand years? Why does he choose the broadcast studio of a well-known televangelist who serves all faiths from his megachurch in Saint Louis? What is God's true take on God? What is God's true take on religion?
Directed by Christopher Scott (A Class Act), the current cast features: Maggie Bofill (LABryinth Company Member), Lou Liberatore (Daniel's Husband) and Neal Mayer (Mark Felt, Superstar).
The creative team for God Shows Up includes Josh Iacovelli (set design), Michael Piatkowski (costume design), Joan Racho-Jansen (lighting design) and Andy Evan Cohen (projection and sound design). Christine Viega is Production Stage Manager.
God Shows Up will play the following performance schedule: Saturday @ 8pm, Sunday @ 3pm, Monday @ 7 pm. Tickets are $59 (Premium seats are $99) and may be purchased through Telecharge.com/212-239-6200.
