WILD SWAN THEATER & SYNERGY ON STAGE

ARE SEEKING ACTORS and ASL INTERPRETERS

FOR OUR 39th SEASON:

Wild Swan Theater is a professional, non-equity theater company that produces and performs productions geared for family audiences. The company gives 175 performances a year in its home base of Ann Arbor and on tour throughout the state. Synergy on Stage has provided the ASL Interpreters for most of Wild Swan’s productions as well as other SE Michigan theaters.

Auditions will be held Wednesday, September 5th from 10am – 2pm

AND Thursday, September 6th from 10am – 2pm

at Wild Swan Theater (6175 Jackson Rd – Ann Arbor)

Seeking/Roles Available: Actors will be considered for roles in three productions: our original musical version of A Christmas Carol (performance dates December 6 – 9, 2018), our collection of African folktales, Under the African Sky (performance dates February 21 – 23, 2019 + touring dates), and the classic well-loved story Charlotte’s Web (performance dates May 1 –5, 2019), as well as positions with our touring company. We are especially interested in culturally diverse casting with all of our productions.

ASL Interpreters will be considered for four of Wild Swan Theater’s productions (A Christmas Carol, Shipwrecked! – performance dates March 7 – 9, 2019; Jack and the Beanstalk – performance dates March 20 -23, 2019; and Charlotte’s Web) as well as other Synergy on Stage performances.

PLEASE NOTE: Daytime availability is a must as we rehearse (generally 10am – 1pm or 1 – 4pm) and perform during the day.

Audition Preparation: Actors: 1 comedic monologue (2 minutes max.); 16 bars of a song of your choosing (will be sung acapella—no accompanist will be provided); please bring a current headshot and resume. ASL Interpreters: 2 minute theater monologue AND a 2 minute selection of a song from a musical, both showcasing your interpreting skills; please bring a current headshot and resume.

Salary/Pay Rate: $75/performance

Rehearsal Information: We generally rehearse 3 times a week for about 6 weeks prior to the opening of a show.
