Scarred for Life, an instant drama in 2 acts
Theatre Momentum presents our instant drama in 2 acts, Scarred for Life.
Scarred for Life is an improvised two-act play. Using real people's scar stories as the foundation of their characters, the actors will fold them into an improvised two-act play. This is a dramatic improv production, and auditioners are encouraged to consider themselves actors first, and to bring realistic, honest, vulnerable performances to the stage.Auditions will be held on Wednesday, January 23rd and Sunday, January 27th.
We are seeking to cast 14-16 players. All interested performers must attend an audition, even if you have been in the ensemble previously.
Auditions are just for Scarred for Life and any future productions will be cast independently.Pay: A small stipend of $25 total for the entire show run will be paid to all performers, in addition to commissions for ticket referrals.
As a small company, we want some part of the production income to go back to every performer, as many other improv theatres in Chicago do not do.The auditions will run 7-10 PM on Wednesday, January 23rd, and 11 AM-2 PM on Sunday, January 27th. Auditioners are expected to remain the entire audition time, so please plan accordingly. The audition is entirely improvised, so there is nothing to prepare.All rehearsals will be on Wednesday nights, January 30-March 20, 7-9:30 PM.Performances will be 8:30 PM on Friday and Saturday nights, March 22-May 4 (no shows on 4/19-20)All auditions and performances will take place at Pendulum Space, 1803 W. Byron St, Suite 216.
