SORRY! WRONG CHIMNEY - Hill Country Community Theatre

Hill Country Community Theatre announces open auditions for the

“Sorry! Wrong Chimney!”

The Hill Country Community Theatre is seeking 3 women & 4 men, aged 20's-50's, to play the following comic characters in

the second show of their 2018-19 season, “Sorry! Wrong Chimney!” written by Leo W. Sears and Jack Sharkey. Auditions are Monday, September 24 and Tuesday, September 25 at 7:00 PM at the theatre, 4003 W FM 2147, Cottonwood Shores, TX 78657. The show will be directed by Kay Baker.

Samantha Tuttle: A high-strung, worried young newlywed of six months, Samantha suspects her husband is having an affair. Think of Lucille Ball from I LOVE LUCY.

David Tuttle: a hard-working young executive and befuddled newlywed who moonlights as a department store Santa, so he can buy a fabulous Christmas present for his wife.

Natalie Weldon: The nouveau-riche neighbor to Samantha & David, Natalie is an experienced wife who counsels Sam since she has been married for several years. She is energetic & nosy. If Sam is Lucy, Natalie is Ethel from the same screwball TV comedy hit.

William Weldon: A pipe-smoking, absent-minded psychiatrist, with a tendency to stuffed-shirtism and a flair for the melodramatic, Bill is Natalie's well-to-do husband, and neighbor to the Tuttles. Although physically somewhat bumbling, his verbal barbs are sharp, swift, literate, perfectly timed, and effortlessly delivered. He enjoys experimenting with hypnosis in his treatments.

Kris Kreigle: The loopy, loony-tune Kris Kreigle has a holiday delusion: he thinks he really is Santa. He is known as the Santa Claus Burglar because he also steals everything in sight from those homes where he decides the people have been naughty, rather than nice.

Sheila: Elf-costume clad, gun-toting, doggedly devoted fiancée and accomplice of Kris Kreigle, Sheila drives his getaway car. She may seem like a tough broad, but this gum-chewing gangster's moll with a take-charge attitude clearly has a heart of gold.

Police Officer: He is a serious, committed officer of the law, who when hypnotized by mistake during his investigation, becomes a scene-stealer. The actor needs to be comfortable with physical comedy as the officer goes in and out of hypnosis at the snap of the finger, landing in crazy positions. Under hypnosis, he even performs an energetic strip-tease routine (stripping no farther than to his boxer shorts).

Sides from the script will be provided at the audition for cold readings. Rehearsals will begin October 1, and will be on most weekday evenings, and some weekends as the opening of the show approaches. Production dates are for three weeks, November 29 through December 16, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM, Sunday matinees at 2:15 PM. For more information, please call the theatre at (830) 693-2474 or send an email to director@theHCCT.org.
