CASTING CALL FOR MAINE PROFESSIONAL PREMIERE OF MATILDA THE MUSICAL Penobscot Theatre Company is issuing a local casting call for specific roles in their holiday production of MATILDA THE MUSICAL. Based on the beloved short story by Roald Dahl, MATILDA THE MUSICAL is the Tony Award winning tale of an incredible and gifted young girl who takes control of her own destiny. The casting call is for youth ages 8 - 13 only. Auditions will take place on Monday, June 24th from 5:30-8:30pm at the Penobscot Theatre Company Dramatic Academy space (51 Main Street). Five minute audition slots may be booked by sending a request to casting@penobscottheatre.org with the subject Matilda Casting. Requests must be sent no later than Friday, June 21st at 3pm. Auditionees will be asked to learn a song and a short passage from the script. These materials will be provided when audition slot is confirmed. Callbacks will be held on Tuesday, June 25th 5:30-9:00pm. If you recently attended the general open call auditions, you do not need to audition again. MATILDA THE MUSICAL will begin rehearsal on 11/5/19 and has performances through 12/29/19. Please keep this major commitment in mind before signing up for an audition. Please no phone calls.
