WAY OFF BROADWAY ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL AUDITION DATE FOR MAMMA MIA!

Following Way Off Broadway’s announcement of auditions for its upcoming production of the smash-hit musical Mamma Mia!, the theatre has received such interest that the producers have decided to add an additional audition date.

Auditions for Mamma Mia! will be held on Sunday, March 31st and Monday, April 1st beginning at 7:00 p.m. both evenings at The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre located at 5 Willowdale Drive in Frederick, Maryland.

Those interested in auditioning should bring a headshot and resume, as well as 16 bars of prepared music and be ready to sing, dance, and read from the script. All roles are open and non-union paying. Those auditioning should be 16 or older. No appointments are necessary and an accompanist will be provided.

In this mega-hit musical, ABBA's hits tell the hilarious story of a young woman's search for her birth father. This sunny and funny tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago.

Over the years, a number of popular stage veterans have starred as Donna Sheridan including Louise Pitre, Dee Hoty, Carolee Carmello, and Beth Leavel. Meryl Streep appeared as Donna in the 2008 film adaptation of Mamma Mia! – a role which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical.

Way Off Broadway’s production will run from June 14th through August 24th with performances every Friday and Saturday evening and matinees on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday of each month. A specific performance calendar can be found at

Mamma Mia! was originally conceived by Judy Craymer and has music and lyrics by Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Anderson and a book by Catherine Johnson. Way Off Broadway’s staging will be directed by Bill Kiska, with music direction by Jordan B. Stocksdale and choreography by Dee Buchanan.
