Forge Theatre will hold auditions for the area premiere of the hit musical Head Over Heels on June 9 and 11 at 7:00 pm at the theater located at 241 First Ave. in Phoenixville. The show runs September 6 – 29.
Head Over Heels is the bold new musical comedy from the visionaries that rocked Broadway with Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Avenue Q, and Spring Awakening. This laugh-out-loud love story is set to the music of the iconic 1980’s all-female rock band The Go-Go’s, including the hit songs, “We Got the Beat,” “Our Lips Are Sealed,” “Vacation,” Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven is a Place on Earth” and “Mad About You.”
A hilarious, dazzling celebration of love, Head Over Heels follows the escapades of a royal family on an outrageous journey to save their beloved kingdom from extinction. You’ll meet a king about to lose his throne, a queen about to lose her inhibitions, and two princesses about to find love. It’s a modern musical fairy tale where once upon a time is right now.
Those auditioning will be asked to:
-Prepare a contemporary Broadway song which best displays vocal range and ability. Bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided.
- read scenes from the script
-participate in a short dance routine
The production runs September 6 – 29 with rehearsals on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
