BUSCH GARDENS ENTERTAINMENT with the casting support of RWS Entertainment Group is seeking vibrant, energetic performers for its collection of world-class productions during its Spring and Summer Seasons.

Open Call for Singers and Dancers (Non-Union) will be held Thursday January 24, 2019 at Pearl Studios, 500 8th Avenue (btwn 35th and 36th Sts), 4th Floor, NYC.

Male and Female Singers: 10am
Female Dancers: 2pm
Male Dancers: 4pm

Callbacks will be held Friday January 25. 

Seeking: 

Non-Union Singer/Dancer/Actors, Singer/Dancers, Singers, and Dancers over the age of 16, with dynamic personalities, who are comfortable with various music/vocal/dance styles and are able to entertain by connecting with an audience. Theme Park, Cruise Ship, and Children’s Theatre credits are a plus.

Specifically seeking the following roles:

CELTIC FYRE – Let your heart dance right along as fabulous music and the pure energy of Irish dance explode onstage in one of Busch Gardens Williamsburg’s most popular shows ever. Enjoy the Celtic tradition of storytelling as you connect with the heart and soul of the Irish people through the universal language of dance.

INNKEEPER – PRINCIPAL SINGER: Male. The proprietor of the Celtic Fyre Inn. Strong, mature personality and charisma with a bit of Irish charm. Must move well. Strong Broadway style voice. Also performs as a singer in Village Band. Vocal Range: Tenor with a strong belt and sustained G5.

TOMMY: Strong, comedic personality and charisma with a bit of Irish charm. Must move well. Strong Broadway style voice. Also performs as a singer in Village Band. Vocal Range: Baritone with a strong belt

TONY: Strong, comedic personality and charisma with a bit of Irish charm. Must move well. Strong Broadway style voice. Also performs as a singer in Village Band. Vocal Range: Tenor with a strong belt

MAUREEN: Maternal with a strong presence. Comedic timing a plus. Must move well. Lyrical style voice. Also performs as a singer in Village Band. Vocal Range: Mezzo Soprano with a sustained E5.

FRANKIE: Warm, friendly, charming with a strong presence. Comedic timing a plus. Must move well. Broadway style voice. Also performs as a singer in Village Band. Vocal Range: Alto

MALE RHYTHM TAP DANCER – PRINCIPAL DANCER: Seeking strong rhythm tap dancers with a very dynamic sense of style, technique, hoofing, and flair to interact as “The American friends of the bride” who bring a whole different beat to the party through Tap dance.

FEMALE RHYTHM TAP DANCER – PRINCIPAL DANCER: Seeking strong rhythm tap dancers with a very dynamic sense of style, technique, hoofing, and flair to interact as “The American friends of the bride” who bring a whole different beat to the party through Tap dance.

OKTOBERZEST – This new show, performed in Das Festhaus ® in the Oktoberfest village, features German music and dances with a modern and new approach. Guests can enjoy a German meal in the large dining hall while being entertained by cultural singers and dancers, along with a band featuring a violinist.

FEMALE SINGERS: Dynamic, charming personality and excellent voice. Must be able to dance and engage with audience. Partnering experience a plus. Vocal Ranges: Mezzo Soprano and Soprano.

MALE SINGERS: Dynamic, charming personality and excellent voice. Must be able to dance and engage with audience. Partnering experience a plus. Vocal Ranges: Baritone and Tenor.

FEMALE DANCERS: Seeking very dynamic, unique, excellent athletic dancers. Should have strong technique and sense of style. Partnering and lift experience, tumbling and special skills a plus. Females should bring heels and flats.

MALE DANCERS: Seeking very dynamic, unique, excellent athletic dancers. Should have strong technique and sense of style. Partnering and lift experience, tumbling and special skills a plus.

FEMALE SINGER/DANCERS: Seeking dynamic triple theatre performers who possess strong vocal and dance technique. Partnering and lift experience a plus.

SWINGS:

MALE SWING VOCALIST – PRINCIPAL SINGER: Must be able to learn and play all male singer roles (up to 8 parts) to cover all mainstage shows. Exceptional singer with great presence. Must move very well. Vocal Range: Tenor with strong belt and sustained G5.

FEMALE SWING VOCALIST – PRINCIPAL SINGER: Must be able to learn and play all female singer roles (up to 8 parts) to cover all mainstage shows. Exceptional singer with great presence and comedic timing. Must move very well. Vocal Range: Versatile Mezzo with top note: E5

MALE SWING DANCER – PRINCIPAL DANCER: Seeking very dynamic, unique, excellent athletic dancers. Must have strong technique and sense of style. Partnering and lift experience, tumbling, circus and special skills a plus. Must be able to learn and play all male dancer roles to cover all mainstage shows.

FEMALE SWING DANCER – PRINCIPAL DANCER: Seeking very dynamic, unique, excellent athletic dancers. Should have strong technique and sense of style. Partnering and lift experience, tumbling, circus and special skills a plus. Must be able to learn and play all female dancer roles to cover all mainstage shows.

PREPARATION

SINGERS and SINGER/DANCERS: Please prepare 16 bars of an upbeat pop/rock or contemporary musical theatre song showing range and personality. Have a contrasting second piece ready if asked. Bring sheet music in correct key; accompanist will be provided. Bring headshot and resume stapled together. You may be called back to move or dance later the same day; bring dance clothes/shoes.

DANCERS: A brief combination will be taught. Please wear form fitting attire. Females should bring heels and flats. Males should bring jazz shoes. Bring headshot and resume stapled together.

DETAILS

All rehearsals are in Williamsburg, VA. Rehearsals start the end of February or early/mid-March depending on show. Shows run through either the end of August or beginning of September.

Pay Rate: $20.26/hour for principal roles. $14.57/hour for ensemble roles.
