Granite Theatre announces auditions for John Van Druten’s

Bell, Book and Candle”

The Granite Theatre of Westerly, will be holding open auditions for John Van Druten’s “Bell, Book and Candle”. The auditions are Monday August 6 and Tuesday August 7, 2018 at 7 PM at the theatre, 1 Granite Street, Westerly, RI. The show is produced by David Jepson and directed by Anna Convery. The show runs for 11 performances scheduled between October 12 and October 28, 2018.

Gillian Holroyd is one of the few modern people who can actually cast spells and perform feats of supernaturalism. She casts a spell over an unattached publisher, Shepherd Henderson, partly to keep him away from a rival and partly because she is attracted to him. He falls head over heels in love with her at once and wants to marry her. But witches, unfortunately, cannot fall in love, and this minute imperfection leads into a number of difficulties. One of the author's greatest comedy successes. An outstanding and popular title among community theaters. …completely enchanting—a wonderfully suave and impish fantasy. —NY Times.

The cast needed is 1 lady ranging in age from 20’s to 40’s and 3 men 20’s to 60’s. The supporting role of “Miss Holroyd” is pre-cast. No appointments are necessary. Please bring a head shot or current photo with you to the audition if you have not auditioned with us previously. Readings will be from the script

All cast and crew receive stipend payments for performances. For further information you may contact David Jepson at 401-348-0555 or Anna Convery at 508-692-0708. Directions to the theatre are available at our website www.granitetheatre.com or by calling the Box Office at 401-596-2341.
