Emmy Award Winning RWS Entertainment Group is seeking singer/actors and dancers for an original musical production “A Music Box Christmas: Up on the Rooftop” to be performed as a part of Hersheypark Christmas Candylane this holiday season.

Open Calls for Principal Roles (Non-Union) will be held Monday, September 10, 2018 at Pearl Studios, 500 8th Avenue, 3rd Floor, NYC. Female Singer/Actor/Movers for Mom and Nellie at 10am and Male Singer/Actor/Movers for Dad and Will at 2pm.

Open Call for Ensemble Dancers (Non-Union) will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Pearl Studios, 500 8th Avenue, 3rd Floor, NYC. Male and Female Dancers at 10am.

Callbacks for Principals will be held in the afternoon on Tuesday, September 11, 2018.

Rehearsals start November 1, 2018 and shows run November 16 through December 31, 2018 in Hershey, PA. $530/week. Housing provided. Non-Union.

Seeking the following roles:??

PRINCIPALS

??DAD/SNOW MISER/SANTA: Any ethnicity. 5’11” to 6’4”. Very strong character actor with a rich baritenor voice who can portray a variety of mature roles. A warm-hearted father type (to read early to mid 40s) who’s love for his family translates when he plays Santa. The Snow Miser is a big ham who sets out to cause mischief and destroy the holiday cheer. Must move well.??

MOM/HEAD ELF: Any ethnicity. 5’6” to 5’9”. Very strong character actress with a pure belt/mix voice who can portray a variety of mature roles. A loving, mother type (to read late 30s to mid 40s) who is always there for her children. The Head Elf is very much in charge and Santa’s right-hand helper. Must move well.??

WILL: Any ethnicity. 5’4” to 5’7”. Young adult to play a child young enough to maybe still believe in Santa. Strong actor with a youthful tenor/baritenor voice. Nellie’s older brother and one of the heroes of our story who is a bit stiff at first but eventually opens up. Must move extremely well.??

NELLIE: Any ethnicity. 4’10” to 5’2”. Young adult to play a child young enough to believe in Santa. Strong actress with a clear belt/mix. Will’s younger sister and one of the heroes of our story who is full of curiosity. Goofy member of the family who is trying to get Will to loosen up. Must move extremely well.??All performers must be 18 years of age or older to be hired by Hersheypark Entertainment.

??ENSEMBLE??

MALE & FEMALE DANCERS: Any ethnicity. Energetic dancers with lean, toned physiques who are technically trained in musical theatre jazz and tap. Must have a strong stage presence and be able to portray various characters from mischievous elves to Santa’s tapping reindeer. Must be able to partner and lift.

??RUDOLPH: Any ethnicity. Featured member of the male ensemble to play the famous red-nosed reindeer. Solo tapper with star quality. ??

Preparation:??

Principal Roles: Prepare 16 bars of an uptempo pop/rock or holiday song showing range and personality. Have a standard ballad ready as a second selection. Bring sheet music in correct key; accompanist will be provided. Bring headshot and resume stapled together. You may be called back to move later the same day; bring dance clothes/shoes.??

Dancers: Be prepared to learn several dance combinations. Bring form-fitting dance attire, headshot and resume stapled together. Women bring character heels and flats. Men bring character shoes, sneakers, and/or jazz shoes. All bring tap shoes. ??
