Casting "A Chorus Line," a stunning musical-vérité about a chorus audition for a Broadway musical. Synopsis: It tells of the achingly poignant ambitions of professional Broadway "gypsies" to land a job in the show, and is a powerful metaphor for all human aspiration. Memorable musical numbers include "I Can Do That," "At the Ballet," and "Dance: Ten." Big League Productions' "A Chorus Line" will feature the Tony Award-winning direction and choreography of Michael Bennett. It was the recipient of the Pulitzer Prize and nine Tony awards, including Best Musical.

Rehearsals TBD; definitely some will be Aug. 5-10. Fly to Tokyo Aug. 11. Run in Tokyo is Aug. 13-Sept. 9 (four weeks).

This is a NON-UNION job Rehearsal weekly pay: $300. Total compensation: $890/wk. includes per diem. Sharing double room.

Seeking the following Roles:

Zach male, dynamic and charismatic director/choreographer of a Broadway show; 30-40; actor who moves extremely well.

Maggie female accomplished dancer who sings very well. Likable girl next door. Mid-20s. Soprano with a solid mix-belt.

Butch African-American male. ensemble dancer, 20s. who will understudy the male roles; most will cover three to five roles and dance the opening number. Will cover the role of Richie, definitely.

Lois/Tricia/Vicki
female, 21-32. Roles are cut dancers who will also serve an understudies to several roles, which will include: Cassie, Val, Diana, Sheila, Maggie, Kristine, and Judy Must be strong dancers who sing and act. (Cassie: "Star” dancer who sings extremely well. Dynamic, vulnerable actress. Early-mid 30s. Soprano. Val: Accomplished dancer who sings well. Smart, sassy and immensely sure of herself. Mid-20s. Mezzo. Diana: Accomplished dancer who sings very well. Hispanic or Mediterranean appearance. Warm, energetic and extremely likable. Mid 20’s. Mezzo. Sheila: Accomplished actress who dances well. Beautiful showgirl, with a killer body and an even more killer wit. Early 30s. Alto. Kristine: Accomplished dancer who sings. Quirky, comedic sensibility. Exhibits a nervous energy. Mid-20s. Alto. Maggie: Accomplished dancer who sings very well. Likable girl next door. Mid-20s. Soprano with a solid mix-belt. Judy: Accomplished dancer who sings well. Quirky and decidedly offbeat. Mid-20s. Soprano).

Sign-ups begin an hour before each call, which is when the official list will start. Everyone should be dressed and ready to dance. Women should bring heels and flats and wear something that shows legs and body shape. Men should wear jazz shoes and long dance pants. No baseball caps. Also bring sheet music to musical theater song(s) in case casting needs you to stay and sing; accompanist provided (if time permits). Additional callbacks will be held May 10 & 11, but all must attend this call to dance first.
