Theatre UNO Showcases the Workplace in GLORIA

Branden Jacob-Jenkins's play is a dramatic comedy focusing on the lives of working Americans and dynamics in the workplace. Directed by David Hoover, this funny, trenchant, and powerful play follows an ambitious group of editorial assistants at a notorious Manhattan magazine, each of whom hopes for a starry life of letters and a book deal before they turn thirty. But when n ordinary humdrum workday becomes anything but, the stakes for who will get to tell their own story becomes higher than ever.

Leading the cast in the roles of Gloria and Nan is Rachel Morris, who shares her view on the show's subject matter. "Without giving the whole plot away, today's climate has really begun to weigh on us as a society as we are bombarded with the 24 hour news cycle. Having the opportunity to laugh at the very subjects that terrify us, gives us the chance to recharge and have a meaningful conversation about what it means to stay informed."

Gloria will open on Thursday, November 8th and run through November 17th at the Robert E. Nims Theatre in the Performing Arts Center on UNO's campus. All evening performances are for 7:00pm, with Sunday matinees at 2:00pm.
