Bailey Contemporary Arts Presents AB-'STRAKT Bailey Contemporary Arts (BaCA) is proud to take viewers on a journey into the inner worlds of abstract art, featuring authentic representations of nature, feelings and emotions. The Pompano Beach venue is showcasing the exhibit ab-?strakt in the main gallery featuring artists Diana Font, Monica Kassan and Jill Lefkowtiz from November 2 through December 22, 2018. In the Blooming Bean Gallery, a solo exhibit of Amanda Curtiellas' free flowing abstract paintings are on display until December 1, 2018. Gallery exhibits are free and open to the public. "There is a certain freedom with abstract work, when artists get in the flow and let the materials and expressive gestures of the hand materialize their feelings," said Juliana Forero, Ph.D., Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs Department gallery curator. "Throughout this year, I met the three featured artists at different events. While they don't know each other personally, I felt their work would show well together as they share a passion to express their art almost unfiltered--straight from their heart and soul. Emerging artist Amanda Curtiellas's solo exhibit also shares that same spirit, enhancing the experience as guests move from space to space throughout BaCA."

Diana Font is a sculptural artist whose geometric shapes and minimalist assemblies are inspired by nature and her connection to the ethos of life. She projects delicate forms and multiple combinations of soft geometries that result in feminine intersections and junctures. Abstract bodies resonate in the refined subtle forms, totally reducing the geometric rigidity.

Monica Kassan's colorful paintings evoke her inner worlds, which come to life effortlessly as they flow directly from mind to hand. For her, color is vital. She mixes her paints freely and frequently to obtain her desired tints, often working for hours at a time to retain a fresh, vibrant image.

Jill D. Lefkowitz paintings are descriptive images. They transform into sculptures on canvas, exploding with color and detail. Her works reflect worldwide cultural influences, past and present, which has pushed her to try new approaches. She often paints on a wide variety of three - dimensional surfaces such as vases, barrels, cylinders, and guitars.

"This is an exhibition that highlights the importance of expression and embraces the departure from figurative forms allowing gestures to take shape to represent ideas, feelings, and concepts," explained Forero.

This similar theme is echoed in Curtiellas's work which uses color and movement to tell stories, share visions and bring to life a world both seen and unseen.
